Flyers win 4-1! Bad start to the game, they took some stupid penalties and let the Sabres score first, but Matt Read's two goals energized the team and it got them going as the game went on - good win!
I think we have three lines that can score right now with the emergence of Downie with Read and Couturier. The scoring depth is really there. Altogether, I don't think we played that great of a game and still ended up winning pretty convincingly. The killer instinct just wasn't there or we would've netted 6 or 7. 5 on 3's should be automatic goals with this team and instead they were awful looking.
My boy Vinny!!!!!! What? 8th of the season? I saw the replay of that goal, absofrigginlutely awesome!!!!! Nice to see Downie, Hall & of course Vinny playing so good! I knew Vinny would bring it, going to the Flyers! Congrats Flyers fans on another nice win.
Yep they willed themselves to that win last night. Just kept rolling the lines and Couts line got it going created momentum. Downie was a steal nice to see him back after maturing thanks TB and Col for growing him up for us....
Yea FlyerFin. I like the aggressiveness of the Flyers and their persistence which is beginning to emerge of late. Nothing wildly spectacular but getting more solid and consistent. When I watch these games on wiziwigtv, many of the commentators are local and for the opposition. I hear a significant disparaging words against guys like Schenn and Simmonds and I am constantly shouting bullshit to their analyses.
Although these guys are not surperstars, their play is significantly aggressive for the Flyers recently and they do the little things that disrupt opposing teams' offense and they occasionally get a goal or two themselves. I like both of their games because they are willing to just keep plugging away and it is beginning to pay dividends in the present system. I like the direction the team is headed after a miserable start and lines are starting to gel and play good overall hockey for three consistent periods. Yea they still have weaknesses but I see improvement and we are on our way to being able to match up against the better teams of the league.
