The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reportedly are a serious contender to sign free-agent wide receiver Antonio Brown.

Per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, Brown will meet with the Bucs on Saturday and the two sides are "highly motivated" to reach a deal. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport added the sides are "very close" to an agreement ahead of Brown's visit.

NFL Network's Michael Giardi noted that Tom Brady "was privately campaigning for this in and around his signing with Tampa."

What players won't be signed by Tompa?

Wonder if he’d last longer in Tampa than he dumps in New England.

Perhaps but you'd think he could get into more trouble in Tampa as compared to Foxborough

Certainly gives Brady another weapon but you are right doesn't put them over the top of those teams
It ups their odds significantly in the NFC. I think they're the best team in the NFC, but those two losses hurt. Packers win is big but Seattle isn't going anywhere. NO as well is also out there.

I did forget they had 2 losses. Tough to overcome that

I thought Ariens publicly stated in the spring that he absolutely doesn't want A.B. As for the SB thingy, yeah it's another weapon but it's just another WR. It's not what they need to put them over the top, imo.

Tyler Johnson was playing good ball too, no?

Seems like a Brady whining/lobbying for a player for the sake of it kinda move.

Yeah, that's my thinking as well. Brady trying to put his own stamp on the team. If they make this move, I give it 3 weeks before AB gets in a fight with Evans or trash talks him on Twitter.

Steeler's seem to be doing better w/o AB, cancer no matter how talented is just that. Seattle would be the right choice for him

Seattle doesn't need AB though. Granted Tampa doesn't either. Do you think Wilson and company would keep him in line?

#WRdon'tmatter### Pat's won SB's with Branch and the Edelman's not when they had Moss, even though he wasn't a locker and social media cancer like AB. Fucker quit on his own team, when they needed to win to get into playoffs

I honestly don't think anybody can keep AB in check for very long. I seriously think the guy has serious medical issues in his head to go along with being a diva WR.

They kept Sherman, Thomas, Bennett etc in line for as long as they did
