So we got ourselves a center. I agree with Shark that we aren't a finished product yet but a work in progress. In fact Stork is not our long term answer at center just a upgrade at the position this year. Next years draft I am hoping we land a C & DT/NT in the draft. In Scot I Trust!!!

I'm thinking Stork can get up to speed quicker than we might think - he's a known football guy with smarts.

Hopefully he can compete and prove better than Licht as soon as Game 2 or 3. Seems hard to believe that he could be worse.

Another bonus is that having a Center who isn't easily pushed around also means that Long/Lavaou/Scherff play should benefit

So I am not going to blow smoke up your shorts and tell you Lich is a great center because he is not. He is an 8 year vet with 72 starts so anyone says he sucks is just plain wrong. Everyone gets beat from time to time, the other side is supposed to play hard too. All that being said I hope Stork can help. I think Kory is a little light for what Callahan wants to do but many times the center is blocking on the 2nd level so size isn't as important as it is at guard .... UNLESS the opposing team puts a NT in the zero technique or overloads the center position. If there is an overload then he should be getting help from the guard or RB if in pass pro.

Long has proven nothing. He hasn't won the starting job against vulnerable incumbents at either LG or C. Not saying he will be cut but I don't see him being the backup center either. They keep Lich because he is the starter now and will be the backup center at some point.

Dude was an injury waiting to happen anyway. Sucks it didn't work out because it would have been an upgrade when he "was" on the field but Lich had a bad game,,, he's had good ones as well. Not the end of the season for us.
