Just read that Crosby has been cleared to wear a normal helmet. I am still a bit nervous for him to leave his jaw exposed mainly because I would expect someone to throw an elbow or a punch to the face knowing his situation.

Guess the series will start on Saturday. I am hoping not in the middle of the day but I am sure NBC is gonna want pretty boy Sid on at 3PM which sucks for the Bruins.

Interesting problem for the B's right now. I heard that Ference is doing well and may be available for game 1. So who sits for the B's defense?

You probably sit either Torey Krug or Matt Bartkowski. Obviously Krug has been a injection to the PP unit and has played well but so has Bartkowski. He has logged some big mins and played a good defensive game and he is also faster then Ference which we need against the Pens.

Could back fire quickly though with the forwards on the Pens and a more veteran D-man like Ference would be better prepared for that intensity.

If it is me I dont change a thing.

Also I am hearing a lot of talk about how the Bruins will struggle against the high powered offense of the penguins. That may be true but I recall a certain team that had a high powered offense that watched the Bruins skate the cup.

that is crazy similarities. the only thing is that pens did not have to travel like the canucks over the first 3 rounds, pens also have only played 11 games to this point while the canucks had played 18 going into the Final. (not an excuse but Pens will be fresh still) and we didn't have a Crosby, well I guess no one does.

Im thinking Bruins will win this anyway they are just a tougher team and unless Rask falters the goal tending is better. Pens have the better overall forwards but this series is a pick em to me but Vegas has other ideas -210 for the Pens to win this series and +170 for the Bruins. How does it go? Dont Poke the Bear? Chara is going to be all over that line

I not sure what to take on this series...but the bruins need vets on D not young guns. The Pens are a much deeper team than that Canucks team was. Also, don't mistake this squad as all flash no grit. Third and fourth lines have a lot of grit, will hit you, win board battles, still have scoring ability, etc. Rask will be the x-factor here. The Pens make good goalies look silly. Their offensive output isn't some fluke. A hot goalie could stop them. Also don't overlook Vokoun's stats just because he's old. His one loss was 2-1 in 2OTs. The Pens have the edge in offense, the Bruins in D (if healthy), and I call the net a draw based on postseason performance. This will be a battle.
