The problem I see with this is Bradford will be a free agent next year. So no way the Browns would give up a first rd pick for the use of Bradford for one year. I doubt Bradford wants to go to the Browns so he wont sign an extension to go there for multiple years.

Supposedly the Browns rumor mill says that "IF" this is true, that the Browns will negotiate a 4 year deal with Bradford before a trade is made.
I think it's hogwash anyway, but we don't know Chip.

Yeah that's what I'm not buying. It would have to be a very big offer from the Browns $$ for Bradford to accept it. At that point the Browns would be better off just trading up for MM themselves. It's going to be crazy.

And two elite talents and top 6 selections as his bookend offensive tackles. Such an easy job to do and he's such a playground assbackwards joke of a QB that he even made it look hard at times because of his completely non-NFL style of play.

Manziel sucks and will never be more than a back up (if he is lucky). He believed the hype and thought he should go #1 but most of us believed he was not even worthy of a first round pick.

If there are any real talks it is probably regard pick 12 if a certain QB falls that far. They can keep Manziel.

I don't know Manziel, personally, but I happen to live in TX and saw a lot of his games. He benefited greatly from playing behind a great OL, with two NFL top 10 picks as bookend tackles, and several NFL caliber receivers (Ryan Swope was a top prospect before concussions cut his career short). That's just a fact.

Can he play? Maybe. But he has significant limitations in size and arm strength, and he did not show remotely the level of work habits or commitment last year to merit being on an NFL roster, much less starting.

He will get a chance because of his hype and high draft position, but he needs to show a considerably improved work ethic or he will be out of the NFL in two years.

Top QB's almost always have great work ethic and dedication to always improving no matter how much success they attain. Johnny Football wants the glory without putting in the blood, sweat and tears needed to achieve success at the pro level. Johnny needed to leave behind the night life and women for 6-10 years while he earns his money and makes his mark. I think he has enough talent to play in this league, he just doesn't have the head for it and his priorities are all screwed up. The most I'd give up for him is a 6th at this point ... who knows if this kid will ever get it.

Nobody knows where Manziel is at this point. He may see the light and have a great 15 year career. Or he may fail again. Anyone that think they know are just guessing.

I wish! I was at a sports bar a couple of years ago in Florida and she did it as a gag to get some laughs for some of the patrons - obviously she had one too many, but she was pretty sweet :thumb:
Please don't talk about my wife that way.

It's been my experience that a chick who would wear a belly shirt and flip flops to a sports bar and bend over, simulating getting plowed by Tiger for a photo opp would be a fun thing to play with.
If it is a reality and not a fantasy, if you have experience with chicks like that I applaud you.

It was actually pretty funny, there was about 10-12 of us lining up to take a picture, until the manager came over and broke it up!

What can I say, if you've ever been to Florida, then you know what I'm talking about. The girls down there are awesome.
Lived in Jax for 3 years. Frequented Daytona. Agreed.

Most of you have way too much faith in Bradford. Just because Chip overpaid for him does not elevate his value. He will not succeed in the NFL, and by that I mean win playoff games. Seattle has faced him for years and long before we had the defense we have today.
Like Cutler and many others, he does not possess the "it" factor.

And you know this how? From watching Seahawk games on TV? I will place my trust in Chip knowing a little more about QB's than anyone on any of these message boards.

Bradford played behind some bad OL's in St Louis with very few weapons around him in a traditional style Offense. His #'s were not bad at all when you factor in the talent around him ... he had a solid rookie season, threw 21 TD's in 2012 and was having a really good 2013 year (14 TD's 4 Int's) before going down. The problem with him is simply the injuries. With a much better OL here, solid weapons around him and a system that's similar to his college offense (where he ripped it up) he should be just fine performance-wise ... with the injury concerns always the big worry.

I really don't know what to expect out of Bradford. What I do know if that rather than carry over $12M in cap space as they have for several years, Chip decided to spend it on a guy that could be great. This move will be comparable to either the Drew Brees or Dante Culpepper signings of 2006. We simply don't know which one yet.

At the end of the day, I don't see how a fan can be too upset about it. The risk is largely financial and if it doesn't work out you have the same starter you had for the second half last year.
