I'm really interested in Stevie Brown since you could sign him to a low cost one year deal since he is coming off an ACL tear. He had 8 ints the year before from the SS spot. Could be a nice bridge while we groom a draftee.

Ward isn't that great in coverage plus he is probably gonna be expensive and Byrd is gonna get prolly $8M+ per.

Mike Mitchell would be my choice at the right price. Delmas would be second. I'm not thrilled with the Safety depth of this class. I was hoping we could fill this void via FA. Doesn't anybody want to play in our new stadium for one of the best teams in the league?

I would be for the Byrd trade but not for any other. I know he will be too much but when do the 9ers finally deal with this secondary bullshit? FA or draft?

I don't like being forced into drafting a replacement for Whitner early, so I'd like to see the 49ers get a vet like Bethea, Clemons, or Mitchell. Don't know much about Brown, but he sounds intriguing as a one year stop gap like Ray mentioned.

Time to say goodbye. I think we will be ok if we sign someone like Major Wright. Our Defense helps other get better. So I don't think we will see a big drop off.

He's had some good moments on our team and was a solid player. Not great or anything but solid. I'll miss him.

Being a good hitter will only mean more penalties, so I don't see him leaving as a big loss.
