mehTrue story- he was also better than the #1 pick. Low end cheap bridge starter is about commensurate for a 3rd rounder. In hindsight the Browns were more right than wrong.

now do the other 2 examples.Minny gave up a future first, not a first that a team could use for the present season. Big difference. The difference between the Browns offering #12 or a 2018 1st rounder.
Besides the Browns, do we believe any other team would give up a first for Jimmy G, right now?
I'd bet they'd rather spend money on Romo and draft a Pat Mahomes behind him than Jimmy G.Houston.
we call houston foxboro south for a reason. theyd want jimmy. obrien loves him.I'd bet they'd rather spend money on Romo and draft a Pat Mahomes behind him than Jimmy G.

no, but maybe a sweet package of a first, a future first or 2nd?Not for two firsts they dont
I think he stays here and is given the reigns in 2018.I think it's all talk......Pat's would be foolish to trade away this guy for the simple fact Brady is older and year to year approach now....
A 1st and 4th I might see a team swallow some pride for as Jimmy G has generally looked good, but beyond that is theft. If Jimmy G had played more games I'd be more open to the idea. Tough to convince me Romo/draftpick isn't a superior choice to either of your proposed options so long as Romo dangles about.no, but maybe a sweet package of a first, a future first or 2nd?

Brady did say that 2017 will not be his last season.Yeah, Tom hasn't said what he's planning after this season,
If he comes back after 2017 I think FO ask's him to take a pay cut, then we will see who has the reigns in 2018.

ok, i'll try...A 1st and 4th I might see a team swallow some pride for as Jimmy G has generally looked good, but beyond that is theft. If Jimmy G had played more games I'd be more open to the idea. And then you put in your draftpick, cut Romo, and move about your day. This 10 year window isn't mutually exclusive between a draftpick and Jimmy G.ok, i'll try...
romo cant finish a season
hes an injury and season ending risk
hes nearly 37
hes broken
jimmy is 25
has proven, even in limited sample sizes, that he can play and make smart decisions. if he doesnt get hurt im miami, he has 300 yards by halftime. maybe 450-500 for the game. is he an injury risk too? not sure...the way his shoulder was handled was iffy, but again...hes 25 and has tremendous upside. romo is 37 and we know what he is.
if im a GM, i take jimmys potential and a 10 year run over a season or 2 of romo for ticket sales.
it just pushes the window 3-4 years down the road, because thats what guys like watson and the kid from NC are. 3 year projects, like...jimmy was.And then you put in your draftpick, cut Romo, and move about your day. This 10 year window isn't mutually exclusive between a draftpick and Jimmy G.

would you rather gamble in the draft, or take a guy whos highly regarded by a team that just won 2 out of the last 3 SB's, and who has learned from the greatest QB and coach of all time?
