There go both of their 2012 first round picks. At least they got another 1st back out of Trent. :L

They also cut Jason Campbell

I think they are ALL IN the Manziel sweepstakes

Man, they are like the QB assassins.

If they pick him, and when he doesn't pan out, I wonder if they will stop picking QB's with ties to the Big12 (loosely, gimme this one).

Add it to the list of Cleveland Browns mistakes in 2012-2014 ever since Haslam took ownership... I wish I could feel bad for their franchise, but I can't since they reside in the AFCN. It's alarming how much changeover has been happening there.

Not that anyone cares, but here is a quick dateline to put things in perspective:

2012
*Hired CEO Joe Banner 1 day after buying the Browns
*Fired HC Pat Shurmur after just 1 season under Haslam
*Fired GM Tom Heckert after 1 season under Haslam

2013
*Failed to get Chip Kelly & Ken Wisenhunt who were the top 2 targets for the HC job.
*Hired HC Rod Chudzinski
*Hired GM Michael Lombardi
*Trade 2012 1st Rd draft pick Trent Richardson

2014
*Fired GM Michael Lombardi after 1 season under Haslam
*"Fired" CEO Joe Banner (technically stepped down, but we know the truth) after 2 seasons under Haslam
*Fired HC Rod Chudzinski after 1 season under Haslam
*Debacle of a coaching search in which Josh McDaniels, Todd Bowles and Adam Gase all pulled their names out of consideration for the job. The team eventually hired Bills DC Mike Pettine, a man who wasn't considered a head-coaching candidate of any kind before the Browns made him one.
*Cut 2012 1st Rd draft pick Brandon Weeden
*Appoint Ray Farmer as replacement for GM position

Am I missing anything here? Still waiting to see what the genius Haslam has up his sleeve for a new CEO.

He won't pan out for them......Cleveland is where good players go to die

The problem is they don't develop QBs.......they just expect you to be great from day one. That OL will most likely get him killed too........it's not horrible, but it's not stellar either. That and no running game. I pity ANY QB that goes there.

He is not a good choice for the AFCN... Manziel would get destroyed in that division regardless of the team

How do you spend a first rounder on a 28 year old with no upside or talent?

All I know is they better pick the right QB in the draft, especially since what they have already done in the offseason.

This is their chance to win the division.

I think everyone but the browns knew he wasn't a first round pick.

Weeden was one of the worst picks in recent memory.

Weeden gets so much shit. He was drafted by the Browns. Poor guy.

You cant just expect the guy to be a pro bowler from day one.

I'm actually liking the moves the Browns have been making recently. They've got some great receiving weapons on offense and they've added some solid players on D already this off season. Of course this could all be for naught if they take Manziel in the draft.

When he's 28 already he pretty much has to be.

Was a TWENTY EIGHT year old Draft Pick. There are six and seven year vets younger than that! Horrible, horrible, horrible pick. He'll be 31 around Week 6 of his third season. Jay Cutler will already be 31 in Week Six.... of his NINTH season. Worst pick in recent memory.

You can't blame the team around him. He didn't have good pocket presence, made stupid decisions (modt costed games for the Browns), and was horrible at getting rid of the ball. Look at what Hoyer did before he got hurt, Weeden just wasn't it for any team. He is garbage and a wasted pick.

All I can say is, at least Cleveland didn't take him like top 15 :laugh3:

And Garden. But to be fair Gruden thinks every QB will end up being a good NFL starter.

Yah, if he talks to them in that video room he pretty much wants to suck them off and says their legit.

I don't understand why they didn't offer up a 2nd for Cousins. I think that was the asking price, right?

Of course they would likely rather spend a top 4 pick on potential bust than a 2nd Round pick on Cousins.
