Good news for their fans. I didn't want them moving out of NY.
Crazy how close the 3 teams are from each other once they move.

I may actually attend an Islander game or 2 for once in my life.

I'm glad they are staying too. Screw over those nassau county officials that wouldn't budge. Now isles fans can still go to the games and the colisum will sit dark.

Also another strike against the qubec from getting a team! Yay

Why you against Quebec? I mean, I am glad the Isles aren't becoming the Nordiques... But I wouldn't mind seeing one of the Florida squads moving to Quebec at all.

Just curious... Not sure if I am allowed to speak here.

I'd be pretty stunned if Quebec, and Ontario don't get new teams within a couple years.

I've read a bunch of articles that predict $200M expansion fees for teams in places like Seattle. I can't imagine the NHL would have a hard time getting $300M EACH for two new teams in Ontario and Montreal. That's pure profit for league owners.

In fact, Alan Walsh is claiming that those teams could cost new owners $500M EACH.

Mc i read that on yahoo too $500 for a new team. One of the driving reasons the nhl wants to cut the players down to 50/50. Also with that new Canadian hockey contract. On the players side there is a compromise because two new teams bring in what 40 new jobs for them
