In case you were wondering, Pjil is the Finnish spelling of Phil.

At 335 lbs., Taylor is the biggest DL on our roster. Based on his stats, it also looks as if Taylor's best year was his rookie year.

I know one thing for sure - I want this guy on my side

A former first round pick who comes into a winning situation - a perfect candidate for a guy wanting to keep the ship rolling

Talented underachiever. Worth spending an offseason with to see if he can put it together.

The Ravens and Steelers also worked him out.

Never thought he was a first rd pick but always knew the talent was there.

Agree. If I remember correctly, there were some who had questions about him being 1 st rd talent then also. Disappearing for stretches in games was another. Inconsistent would be better word I suppose. Maybe new scenery, coaching and locker room will make a difference for him in Denver. Like the " potential " payoff of this signing.

One thing is certain - the coaching staff and stability in Cleveland compared to what Taylor will see here in like night and day

He'll benefit from Kollar and Phillips

Austin is still around. Never signed with a team. I think it is pretty obvious we are not going to bring Marvin Austin back. This coaching staff obviously isn't a big fan to put him on IR then cut him. Had we really liked him we would have kept him around.. You never see a guy get placed on IR then cut and then re-sign the following year. It is apparent the new staff wasn't thrilled about him.

From what I understand they think he should have been out practicing some with his injury. They didn't like how long it was taking him and possibly had some of their medical staff saying he was ok to practice but the player saying he was a no go. Also sounds like during the off season he didn't quite stay in shape like they had hoped. I think he was so excited about how well he did the year before that he just kind of thought he was a lock to make the team and well the Broncos didn't see it that way.

I will say I did hear and interesting idea for the Broncos. With Taylor now on board if he checks out medically and with Kilgo on board as well and the team very high on him at the NT position they could talk to Sly Williams about maybe losing say 10-15 lbs this off season and because he is known for his great 1st step see how he would do at that DE spot for Jackson. He played some DE while at North Carolina so it wouldn't be something brand new to him.

Yeah Austin's downfall even in college was that he was very lazy. All the talent in the world. He quickly fell in the doghouse here.

You would think that players when they see a coaching change are put on high alert that no one's job is safe especially for a guy that is a back up. You have to make an impression and getting injured day 1 of training camp and sitting out for a month straight is not exactly how you do that.

Exactly!

and I am not one that says you have to play when you can't move your limbs, but if you're in his situation you better be "hurt" when you're not playing....
