Woot!!! Just think, the Sens could drafted Anze Kopitar, Marc Staal or Tuuka Rask. :L

They went with Brian Lee. LOL

I doubt anyone picks him up either. He can't even beat out David Hale for a spot on defense. That's all you need to know.

This makes me sad in a way.

I still think this kid could become a decent NHLer. He can skate, has some size and his skills are better than some out there in the NHL.

He just needs to grow a pair and a brain and he's good to go.

though he was supposed to be something special?
At the beginning of the year I was worried that he would take Carkner's ice time (for pool purposes)

I've heard he has quite the attitude problem and maybe that's what's holding him back. Rather then working hard and fighting for a roster spot, he expected it to be given to him.

There's no doubt in my mind that he could be a third or fourth defensemen but he just hasn't found his game at the NHL level and I think that goes back to the whole attitude issue.

Just think though...how awesome would it be to have Kopitar or Marc Staal right now? Muckler sure dropped the ball on that one.

Stop me if you think that you've heard this one before.

I'd like to see the kid get a shot somewhere. He was a stud in college and I just don't think he's been given a real shot at this level. Every time he got some momentum going he got shipped down to the minors.

Shame.

I wouldn't be shocked to see San Jose put in a claim on him. Demers, Wallin, and Huskins are out with injuries, the latter two possibly out for extended time, the Sharks could certainly use some depth on defense. Not to mention the Sharks desperately need more mobility from their defense.

I read somewhere that Lee flipped out on Clouston last year, may have been the year before but ever since then he's seriously fallen out of favor with the Senators organization.

I do hope he gets a shot somewhere else. He probably wasn't given a fair shot in Ottawa but he did up until that Clouston/Lee confrontation.

Read it in the Ottawa papers, perhaps?

It's uncanny how everyone who leaves turns out to have been a total asshole. Every. single. one.

Well, of course that's where I read it. LOL

As for the second part. It is funny isn't it? Could it have something to do with a guy named Bryan Murray?

I'm beginning to think he's the cancer that accelerated the downward spiral.

Clouston has said that Lee has had a tough time, but that he's handled it well.

I have never actually heard anything bad about Brian Lee.
