I hope the Bucks new owners are just engaging in courtesy talks with Kidd (one of them is apparently a former financial advisor to Kidd), but not really serious about overpaying for this coaching diva.

Everything isn't about money these days. Basically there's about 25 other coaches in the league who can pull the same stunt kidd did because of the deals that fisher/kerr got. You can't always worry about what others are doing.

If the Bucks are smart they stay away. Do whatever you can in free agency, see what Drew and Hammond can do this year and then decide. I am not opposed at all to writing next season off as well and getting a good pick again. The Bucks problem was always ownership. Herb Kohl never wanted to tank and never wanted to spend money so what we had the last decade was a team just good enough to get an 8 seed or just bad enough to get an 11th or 12 pick and with Kohl the GM never had the final say so our drafts were awful. These new owners seem committed and might open their wallets so right now it looks like the future can be good, God knows this town would back a winner but Kohl burned a lot of bridges fan wise here.

There are no guarantees that the Bucks will even sign Kidd. I think this story is more rumor than fact.
