Well some poster at real gm broke the story a few days ago. Since he did it a few days before everyone else I'm going to assume he actually has sources inside the organization. He also said the Nets are looking at Mark Jackson. Also said Jason Kidd is a dick and "cursed out the russians." We'll see what happens next. Doubt we can get a first rounder for him though.

(for some reason real gm gets blanked out so link will be faulty. Take out space and copy and paste.

Here's the other forum's link: www.SportsHoopla.com/omtmtb9

Stay on the SportsHoopla, this is just for the story. I think the original link got blanked out because it's another forum outside of this forum. Again, stick with SportsHoopla. It has better features and good posters, IMO.

It takes a special kind of ass hole to pull being a 1st year head coach with the most expensive roster in the league - to get the 6th seed out in the East and be thoroughly handled in the 2nd round. To turn around and request total control of basketball operations.

That asshole, gents, is Jason Kidd. Unbelievable.

It's pretty laughable.:laugh3:

He's been in the league for 20 years, money shouldn't be an issue. He's trying to gain full control of a team's operations, something he has no business in doing considering before this year he had zero GM and/or coaching experience.
Maybe the Nets organization made false promises to Kidd when they hired him as head coach.

Can't believe I'm saying this. But the Nets organization deserves better than Kidd. I hate that guy.
Well he did take a team of over the hill players into the playoffs. Not too shabby.

How is it that he actually thought he had the type of swag to make a power play like this one?

Amazing.

Underachieved? How he got into the playoffs with those geriatric players was a stellar achievement.

He actually had them playing really well at the end.

They came out of the gate with a rookie coach, a ton of new faces, and a devastating injury.

But once he got some experience, the NETS were one of the better teams in the league down the stretch.

I think he actually overachieved a bit given the state of his roster...and the injury to Lopez.

He wants out as the team has no future . Those Nets picks continue to look good in Danny's cabinet

Maybe. But then we're getting into the "what ifs". Point being, Kidd just finished his first year as a head coach and has no GM experience as well. Gaining control of basketball operations is not something that happens over night, you need experience. Something he should know.

Really? Joe Johnson and Derron Williams are all-stars. Paul Pierce is old, but he's not exactly over the hill where he's absolutely useless. They had the most depth on the bench, outside of the Spurs along with the most expensive roster. As has been mentioned ad nauseam on these boards; making it to the playoffs in the Eastern conference is not exactly a hard thing to do. That shouldn't even been mentioned since the Nets made it as a 6th seed.

Nets are in a precarious situation now. Their strapped salary cap wise, Williams is 30, Joe Johnson is 33, and Brooke Lopez is coming of a major injuiry.

They have no draft picks to add young talent, nor any space to add any quality pieces. The Nets made a huge gamble and didn't cash in.

nets had the second best record in the east after december 31. Second to the bulls. They were on the right track, but Kidd was upset that kerr and fischer both got 5 million dollars a year.

Milwaukee should play their cards right and not give up too much here. There is a .01% chance he will be on the bench for the nets next year and not having to pay the rest of his contract after firing kidd should be enough for the nets to not even want anything back but a late pick. They will probably get greedy and screw it up.

Is Kidd really an upgrade over Larry Drew?

I hope the Bucks new owners are just engaging in courtesy talks with Kidd (one of them is apparently a former financial advisor to Kidd), but not really serious about overpaying for this coaching diva.

I read where the Bucks want him to replace Hammond.
