I dunno...if all it took were to give up a couple of prospects for David Price, it would've been done already. What's the deal with this kid David Hale?

Hale did great things at the end of last year. I still think he is not quite ready to be a starter yet so this year he will be in the bullpen but injuries may force him to be in the rotation this year.

Careful what you wish for. Think about what the Rays got in a trade centering around Shields; and with Price, the price ( no pun intended) can only be higher.

Good point. I'm still trying to figure that deal out.

We will gladly give them back BJ Upton if that is what it takes. Hell we will even throw in Dan Uggla. :yahoo:

Lol, yeah. However, Friedman is no dummy when it comes to evaluating deals and trades. A trade with him for a very valuable asset means you will lose, at a minimum, very valuable assets. By valuable, I am thinking Teheran or something along those lines in prospect value instead. As I said, be careful what you wish for.

Yea Teheran, Alex Wood, and David Hale are 3 we wont even consider giving up. I think Price is getting pretty close to being a free agent we may make a serious run at getting him. Our front office seems like they are gonna be willing to start spending more.

He pitched 11 innings.

Im telling you against the Padres last year he had I think like 10 strikeouts in 5 innings. That sold me on him.

9 in 5 innings. It's impressive, but you're using 1 start as an indicator of ceiling? Come on. And David Hale had a career 7.0 K/9 in the minors, with his highest strikeout rates being 7.7 in A+ and AA. Hale wasn't exactly younger than his competition either.

Don't get me wrong, I think he could be a nice back-end starter. He needs to limit the walks though. He did put up respectable GB/FB ratios.

That would be like me saying Middlebrooks is a future superstar because he hit 3 home runs in a game (he almost hit a fourth one in that game). Middlebrooks might have legitimate 30+ HR power, but he's never gonna hit for much of an average or get on base much.

Maybe im overreacting to 2 good starts last year. Im not saying he is gonna be an ace by any means, but I think he can be a solid #3.

Man you have to feel for the Braves rotation. With all the uncertainty with the offense, no guarantee the OF, Gattis or Johnson will produce it might be a tough year.

The only certain items with the Braves I think is Kimbrel closing, Freddie Freeman producing and then Dan Uggla hitting .175.
