Well, ball game now. 3 run double.

Wish it would have happened with no outs so I didn't get my hopes up.

That's twice in a week we make a big comeback only to give up a crooked number in extras.

Maybe it's time we stop using Grilli in such critical situations. I think Cervenka has more than proved he's our best reliever.

I know it was Krol that gave up the hit, but it was Grilli that made it first and third with no out and 2 of the runs are charged to him and he's in line for the loss. How do you look your teammates in the eye after that big 7th inning comeback to tie the game?

And now it's official. Back to being tied with the Twins for being the worst in the league.

We're actually not God awful on the road, so maybe we can finally get back to back wins for the first time since that 4 game win streak against a struggling KC team.

Our starting pitching has been doing work lately, even thpough Blair was off tonight. Teheran and Wisler have both been pitching great. That's one positive.

I like small ball and all that, but Freeman literally being the only power threat on the team hinders us. I mean, you'd think some of the others would run into a homer every now and then, but as it stands Freeman and Mallex Smith are the only current players on the 25 man roster with a homer, and Smith just has 1, and it was a low, opposite field line drive that barely cleared the yellow line in New York.

Folty was dominant tonight. 8 shutout innings with no walks all while facing the DH and 9 actual hitters.

5-0 win.

Our bullpen might suck and our offense might be spotty at best and terrible most nights, but here the last few weeks, we've had absolutely no reason to complain about the output of our starting pitchers. I'm just glad Folty was rewarded with a win for his effort tonight.

With Folty, Wisler and Teheran all coming into their own and Blair getting better, we might win 65 games this season just through starting pitching.

It's also encouraging that they are going into the 7th and 8th innings. The fewer innings our BP has to pitch, the better off we will be.

Enjoy every win. Great all around performance tonight.

And I won't sign off without mentioning the great play made by Daniel Castro to keep the shutout in order, diving to his right, and getting a good enough throw to rob Lorenzo Cain of a single that would have scored a run.

Would have a 3-2 lead if Smith doesn't slip between first and second. I hope he's ok.

And Aybar actually does something productive. Thought for sure he'd find a way to hit into a double play with a man on third and 1 out, but a game tying hit.

Still, I don't want him at the plate in critical moments, and I don't want Reid Brignac pinch hitting for Gordon Beckham in crucial moments.

Another great outing for Wisler. I'm glad he's not on the hook for the loss, but would have been nice to give him a win.

For the last month, we've had one of the best starting rotations in the league. They're going deep in games too. The bull pen and offense still blows though.

I just realized was in for 9th inning as well but 2 innings without Norris giving up a run is unlikely

Please get Gordon out and get this to the 11th. Alexander pitched 2 innings last night, and so did Chien Ming Wang, and Wang is the only pitcher the Royals have left in their BP.
