64 pitches through 6 for Perez.

Is this Greg Maddux?

Is this Greg Maddux?

If he does it consecutively for 10 years than absolutely.

I still don't trust this team, Just keep it up and let's go finish this off.

I'm just pleasantly surpised at his performance tonight. 74 pitches through 7 innings. This is the guy who was walking the yard and got sent back to AAA to make room for Aaron Blair earlier this season.

I don't trust the team(though our starters haven't given us a reason to complain recently) either, but I'll give props when they're due.

Fair enough, and we are all probably realistic about this team so we likely over praise players for doing sub-par things.

Phillies get their second hit, but is quickly erased by a double play.

Perez through 8 with 85 pitches.

You have to let him try to get the CG don't you?

You have to enjoy the small victories or you'll drive yourself crazy with a team like this. Really, the development of young players is the biggest reason to watch this season. I've been very pleased with Matt Wisler, Aaron Blair and Mallex Smith so far.

Absolutely. He was already slated to pitch for Gwinnett so it isn't like he is on short notice or anything.

Just make sure we win or else Gonzalez needs to go ASAP.

Really?

You're not gonna let Perez finish it off.

At least Aybar finally did something productive with an RBI double.

Perez could have struck out on 3 pitches like Francoeur did.

Good ole Francoeur. I'm so glad he's back.

Here's a fun fact, Jeff and I went to High School together. I ran XC and he played baseball and football so we didn't have a ton of conversations (approx. 4k students), but he always seemed the nicest, and the most genuine good guy you can get.

Good night folks!

Braves win 5-1

11 game home losing streak SNAPPED.

Perez and Freeman were at their finest tonight.

Unreal from Perez tonight.

The only two baserunners Perez allowed was Howard's solo homer, and Galvis's single, that was quickly wiped away by a double play.

I'm glad to have him back for sentimental reasons, but I have to admit, I don't like the idea of him taking starts away from Mallex Smith.

Still wish Inciarte was leading off. I like the idea of Smith and Inciarte hitting back to back.

And the Phillies strike first with a Franco sac fly. That's why you NEVER walk the leadoff man.

And Aybar forgets to cover third on a grounder to second with the shift on for Howard. Luckily that didn't cost us another run.

Blair was pretty far from sharp in the first inning. 28 first inning pitches, it doesn't look good for 3 games in a row where the starter goes 8.
