Freeman adds a solo homer to cut the lead to 1, but we couldn't scratch across another run.

1-16 at home.

If Fredi would put together the lineup that gives us the best chance to win the game and not be cute, we might win 60 games this year. With the players on the roster right now, our lineup should be:

1. Ender Inciarte- CF
2. Mallex Smith- LF
3. Freddie Freeman- 1B
4. Nick Markakis- RF
5. AJ Pierzynski/Tyler Flowers- C
6. Kelly Johnson- 2B
7. Gordon Beckham- 3B
8. Daniel Castro- SS

Virtually every day

It's not an impressive lineup by any means, but I think it's the one that will produce the most runs with the guys on the 25 man roster right now.

The Brignac/D'Arnaud platoon at second makes me roll my eyes. I'd rather have Jace Peterson playing everyday. At least he plays solid defense and has speed and rakes with the bases loaded.

With the lineup that was thrown out there tonight, once you got past Markakis, Inciarte and Freeman, there was no real threat.

With this lineup, at least you have 4 spots in the lineup that can hurt you. Plus having Smith and Inciarte in the OF at the same time improves the defense automatically.

He's gone at the end of the season regardless. @bamabear82 posted a tweet saying Bud Black is the front runner for 2017.

A guy with a .477 winning percentage...yikes.

I can't think the Braves would pass up on TP. Not that he's my choice, but I'd rather want some fresh face instead of a guy with a career losing record.

WTH? He is the starter tonight.

I hope this all works out for the Braves, getting ANOTHER minor league Pitchers just seems like overkill. What we need is someone to swing the bat and be able to produce some runs.

So far this dump John Hart has done seems to be somewhat successful. I know the Upton twins are struggling, Gattis just got sent down, Wood and Medlen are both struggling, Simmons isn't doing great and is now requiring surgery.

Oh well, hopefully the future is good for us and maybe we can laugh about this in 2-3 years time...

Yeah, but just think if Bobby would have retired a couple years earlier, Ned Yost would be our manager.

We got 1 run, but we couldn't make them pay for an error or cash in on bases loaded with 1 out. Beckham missed clearing the bases by inches, but struck out a few pitches later, and I went to the bathroom when I saw Aybar coming to the plate.

Was there no way we could have got the Angels to take Aybar back in the Chacin trade? I mean, Simmons is going to miss significant time with surgery on his hand.

THAT is why Mallex Smith needs to be in the lineup every day. That line drive single turned into a triple with a stolen base and a throwing error, and a sac fly from Markakis to give us an early 2-0 lead.

Perez looks sharp so far.

Only 30 pitches through 3 innings. Maybe his trip to Gwinnett straightened his ass out.

We get another run off a Pierzynski sac fly that I thought for sure was a double, but Bourjous made a great running catch.

But first and third fir 1 out, and Mr Worthless himself, Erick Aybar hits into a double play to kill any thoughts of a big inning. I mean seriously, if he strikeout, at least we clear Perez for the next inning, but NOPE, grounder right to the second baseman.

I hope he feels ashamed of himself.

I don't pay attention to stats like WAR, but his has to be a pretty big negative for the season.

I feel the same, I did create a Series thread for our games against the Phillies, wasn't sure anyone else watched the Bravos anymore this year.

There's a few of us, but not as many as there was in the beginning of the season.

It's my goal to have this thread hit the 10K max before the end of the season. Really, I think I'm the only one that still comments during the games.

That makes sense. What a bad night to watch Baseball though. NHL game 7, NBA games 5 are on. I'll be mainly watching those during this series.

Ryan Howard with a solo shot.

3-1 Braves.

No more perfect game, no more no hitter and no more shutout.

I'm not a basketball fan at all, and about the time I was giving hockey a chance, the Thrashers left town, so I gave up on it.

I'm mostly a baseball/college football/NASCAR guy.

Still, Perez is through 5 with only like 55 pitches.

Freddie with a solo shot to push the lead back to 3.

6 homers on the season and every one of them has been a solo shot.

Aybar has had 3 chances to get a big hit, and he's failed all 3 times.
