He looked rusty at times, but it was really great to see Marshall out there on the field. One of my favorite current Broncos - and I'm jealous that DC - from what I can tell - has some kind of sexting relationship with him.

I'm meant Texting.

Speaking of sexting (ok texting) Omar Bolden was sending me snapchats the other day of the team bowling and bonding together. Omar is quite the bowler.

Marshall was very pleased to be back in the lineup. His first full action since his surgery in 5 months. I think he felt very good to get back on the field and get over the mental hump of his injury.

You won't meet a more humble harder worker in the NFL (I mean maybe you will, but he is as good as it gets)

Thanks DC - happy to agree with your assessment of Marshall - it was great to see him out there - he will clean up a bagillion tackles in this defense.

Glad we have this kind of connection to the team. Marshall is a guy that I think could be our answer at MLB that we just haven't had since Al Wilson. I know we had DJ Williams but I just never quite trusted that guy to do what he needed to do. I"m also thinking the emergence of Marshall probably means that Trevathan doesn't get resigned after this season unless some major injuries happen or Trevathan has one of those seasons that just make you go "this kid is special and we can't lose him"

It would be better if DC could actually convince these guys to post here.

OC- I don't think you will see that happen, unless it is a quick offseason Hello, thank you! I think Kayvon was wierded out when you told me to tell him you loved him. ( I didn't actually do that)

Agree on DJ Williams... He was a pretty good player for the most part, but really peaked early and then was a bit above average most others years for us.

Looking for that consistent ILB on and off the field.

DJ was a solid LB like mentioned but never fully trusted him and he had his moments. His rookie year he looked like a possible elite LB in the NFL.. Similar to Mike Croel after his rookie year.

DJ was tackling from behind wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to much for my liking .. He was not a good MLBer until his last year and then it was only good .. his drinking had worn thin on my skin ... glad he was gone when he left !!!!!!!!

I would say that was pretty fair Crash.

To me DJ's best year was probably maybe possibly his rookie year. His last year he hardly played for us due to the suspension, and then he got hurt. He seems to being mounting up the injuries now, but overall a nice solid career not special not bad.

But I think Crash probably described it best. DJ wasn't coming up at the line or behind the line to make a lot of tackles like you would like to see your ILB do more often. He got from sideline to sideline, but never stepped it up to the next level. He had unreal athletic ability but wasn't the most intelligent guy. Just kind of a player that you can say he was pretty good, but not the Al Wilson kind of guy that you REALLY miss and his play on the field sticks with you forever.

Lgm wanted his baby. Tell them we'll tone it down, we'll dial it down to like a 4.

Yup I agree...It is why I think Marshall can be special for us in he definitely has that instinct to attack and the smarts to really handle the position. He also is that rare 3-down guy that you want on the field for coverage. He showed really well in the preseason game in my opinion of sticking with his guy. I'm really hoping that once Trevathan gets back then that 1-2 punch of two guys that can cover and stop the run will be huge for this defense and really give us that ability to not drop Ware or Von into coverage but maybe a handful of times all season long.

I think the Broncos draft an inside LB too. I hope Brandon stays a Bronco -one of my favorite players, but Elway doesn't take well to missing OTAs.

This is another reason I am hoping they don't bring in Kaepernick. They then have quite a bit of options cap wise if they say bring in another cheap option like McCown and then draft a player. That extra money can be used to sign Marshall to an extension locking up another piece of the puzzle long-term. It also helps us not to have to push so much money to other years for Von Miller. We can bump his cap hit up this year instead of having to lower it just to make room forcing other years to be cap strapped.

I think you are right CD. It might also be a sign that the Broncos have settled on their ability to get college kid they want.
