No it does not,we all make mistakes.

But to think that impacts the Seahawks is foolish.

I made mistakes in my life, shit i beat the crap out of four guys for a pound of coffee when i was locked up,there you have no second chance.

You are making millions of dollars with a condition "don't smoke weed" and you can't pass on a joint? Yes, that makes you a fucking idiot. There is no way around that.

I smoke regularly, but if I had a wonderful job that said I couldn't, I think I could pass it up.

What a joke, filming teams and using PED's is a very far cry than one or two players smoking weed.

You guys are idiots if you think not half the NFL does not use PED's or smoke a joint, shit half the population does.

No jackass, all of the NFL does not use PED's. And not all of the NFL smokes weed either, or whichever drug that browner and thurmond were caught using. Which you don't know.

It would be at least a little hard though wouldn't it? I know I would struggle giving it up after smoking daily since my teens.

Not really. I have taken many extended breaks with no issue. Admittedly I haven't had (and don't intend to have) a reason to quit permanently, but it's pretty damn easy to just not smoke. Add millions of dollars on the line and you deserve to have your life ruined if you're that dumb.

Yes, it should be legal, and it shouldn't be on the banned substances list. But it is. How fucking hard is it?

Correction,,, IT IS legal in Washington State...But illegal for nfl'ers...what idiots. But allow me to be a conspiracy theorist for a second. is it possible to get a contact high by being around it? Would that flag a test? (I was walking about 5 feet behind two people smoking a joint about 2 weeks ago on the harbour steps (which is right between the waterfront and pikeplace market)

You guys hear the black helicopters?

It is illegal under federal law and as such federal law enforcement can shut down dispensaries and bust users at will.

Yes, you can test positive for a contact high, but with the activity level of an NFL player it would be out of the body almost immediately.

I would think a smart person might move away from the plume of smoke if he/she smelled something.

August 29th, from the DOJ....

Today, the U.S. Department of Justice announced an update to its federal marijuana enforcement policy in light of recent state ballot initiatives that legalize, under state law, the possession of small amounts of marijuana and provide for the regulation of marijuana production, processing, and sale.

In a new memorandum outlining the policy, the Department makes clear that marijuana remains an illegal drug under the Controlled Substances Act and that federal prosecutors will continue to aggressively enforce this statute. To this end, the Department identifies eight (8) enforcement areas that federal prosecutors should prioritize. These are the same enforcement priorities that have traditionally driven the Department’s efforts in this area.

Outside of these enforcement priorities, however, the federal government has traditionally relied on state and local authorizes to address marijuana activity through enforcement of their own narcotics laws. This guidance continues that policy.

For states such as Colorado and Washington that have enacted laws to authorize the production, distribution and possession of marijuana, the Department expects these states to establish strict regulatory schemes that protect the eight federal interests identified in the Department’s guidance. These schemes must be tough in practice, not just on paper, and include strong, state-based enforcement efforts, backed by adequate funding. Based on assurances that those states will impose an appropriately strict regulatory system, the Department has informed the governors of both states that it is deferring its right to challenge their legalization laws at this time. But if any of the stated harms do materialize—either despite a strict regulatory scheme or because of the lack of one—federal prosecutors will act aggressively to bring individual prosecutions focused on federal enforcement priorities and the Department may challenge the regulatory scheme themselves in these states.

A copy of the memorandum, sent to all United States Attorneys by Deputy Attorney General James M. Cole, is available below.

Apparently the NFL is even more draconian than the DOJ.

That doesn't change the fact that it is illegal, just that it is not enforced.

And being legal has nothing to do with NFL policy. It is a violation of their drug policy and will be enforced.

How hard is it for the NFL to pull its head out of its ass? They provide free limo rides for drunk players and suspend those who smoke a little grass. Just fucking stupid. Needs to change. As with so many controlling laws brought to you buy the "less government" folks.

You seriously accept things way too easily. Its ok to fight against something thats wrong, its how this country was founded. Every time someone tries to impose their will on you, do you just roll over?

I am not in a position to fight it, am I? Whining does nothing.

Down the road, I will, probably, although it doesn't hurt me in the slightest. I can get weed and will likely never be arrested for it, so why should I care?

They have an image. Allowing weed is not a battle worth fighting for them.

Its the same BS as spygate. Dont get me wrong I hate the Pats but they didnt beat the Rams because they filmed the walk though and filming where they filmed was the illegal part not the filming part, But people believe what they want to believe.

Hate, for the most part, influences peoples beliefs.

I agree it was unethical and against the rules. but to think the Pats wouldnt be one of the most dominante teams of the last 15 years is a bit ridiculous.

Yep, the dominance was all because of the filming. It had nothing at all to do with the coaching or players. :yahoo:

Society has established a set of rules in which we are all expected to live, it's called the law. Like it or not break them and punishment will be forthcoming.

Don't worry, it'll be legal in New England before you know it. Oregon and California will be next and after a few years the Northeast will follow suit. Maryland and D.C. after that then most of the Midwest. It's inevitable.

The south will fight it tooth and nail but federal restrictions will have to ease once more and more states jump on board.
