A conference may be able to send 3............
If the wording is that a conference can't have more than 1 AT-Large team........
If #1 and #2 are from the same conference, that conference may be able to have 3 bcs teams.....
But I'm sure if that were a loop hole- it would have been noticed by now.
You are right. Team SEC could end up with 3 but some weird shit would have to happen. If I interpret right LSU, Alabama and / or Arkansas would have to end up as #1 and #2 and Georgia or the western division champion from the former 3 would have to win the SEC and not be #1 or #2 of the BCS.
The key is #1 and #2 have to not win their conference for it to happen.
"No more than two teams from a conference may be selected, regardless of whether they are automatic qualifiers or at-large selections, unless two non-champions from the same conference are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the final BCS standings."
