Calling up Will and then have Iglesias hop back and forth between SS and 3rd? Hope that doesn't screw him up.

Did WMB get called up? Didn't hear that part. But I agree.

totally

whole system needs to be scrapped, but to do so in the name of "being able to win an election" is insane

Like the Dems aren't already doing that every time they have another one of their little district re-orgs.

That's what I'm assuming - what's the corresponding roster move for the DFA?

Nobody cares about Oregon Gen

it's barely even a real state.

Well, I don't live in Oregon so I really don't care either, but I felt the need to bitch, so I did.

But Portland is liberal as hell. I mean SF-liberal.

Red Sox Designate Pedro Ciriaco For Assignment

By Steve Adams [June 10 at 1:23pm CST]
The Red Sox have designated out of options infielder Pedro Ciriaco for assignment to clear a 25-man roster spot for the returning Will Middlebrooks, according to Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe ([ame="[MEDIA=twitter]344156483686117376[/MEDIA]"]on Twitter[/ame]).
Ciriaco, 27, hit .216/.293/.353 in 58 plate appearances for the Red Sox this season -- a far cry from last season's line of .293/.315/.390 (in 272 plate appearances). The Red Sox have used him all over the diamond, as he's seen at least three innings at every position aside from catcher since signing a minor league deal prior to the 2012 season. As Abraham notes, there's a decent chance that Ciriaco could clear waivers and be outrighted to Triple-A.

I didn't hear one but I guess it is WMB

There has been no official move as of yet, but, according to the prying eyes of the Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo, Will Middlebrooks is back from his rehab assignment in Pawtucket and on the Red Sox once more. He's also in Monday's lineup against the Rays:

Middlebrooks was kept in the minors a few days extra so, as manager John Farrell put it, he could come back to the majors with some momentum in his offense. As he hit .294/.429/.647 with two homers in five games, mission seemingly accomplished.

The butcher is back at 3rd and the guy who has been lights out both offensively and defensively rides the pine. Terrible decision.

Napoli is the next one that needs to sit IMO. If he continues his pace he may reach 150 strike outs by the All Star break.

Not sure what the rush is on Middlebrooks. He looked overmatched most of the season and probably needs a while in AAA.
