EDIT: I'm not trying to sound righteous, my shit stinks too... I was an asshole when I was younger, and the damage I caused some classmates came face to face with me years later... I never understood the hurt I caused people... yes, words hurt.

No I get exactly what you are saying. Unfortunately these kids probably learned the hard way that people are cruel.

To be honest, I never ridiculed or taunted kids. I've always stood up for the little guy (maybe because I was one). I took my share of beatings doing so, until 9th grade when I grew 6 inches. My high school also had over 6000 students so all the assholes from my younger days were spread out. I made new friends and had a great time in high school. Kids today seem way crueler than when I was young though.
