Accidental mixture of alcohol and oxycodone

I dont want to be a bitch but how can they label it "accidental" when he was in the substance abuse program?

its probably just semantics ... i dont mean to say he committed suicide but if he was indeed an addict ... can this be called an accident per se

I am sure none of his problems had anything to do with being hit in the head repeatedly.

I don't know if it will be 5 years or 10 years or maybe longer, but I think we're definitely traveling down the road where fighting will be eliminated from the game of hockey.

yup i thinks its heading there ... especially if they want a blanket head shot rule

especially on a day like today, im getting that eerie sense that enforcers are starting to drop like former WWF wrestlers (who were chewed up and spit out by their "league"/owners) ... the current numbers might not support it ... but eventually the backlash against what fighting is doing to these guys lives after they retire is going to change alot of opinions

Accidental mixture of alcohol and oxycodone

I go to pain management because of three spinal surgeries requiring implants. I also take pain medication monitored by monthly visit's.

Rule number one, Everyone is told NOT to drink alcohol by their pain management doctor. It's also clearly marked on the pain med container.

Rule number two, You get tox tested periodically without notice (urine and blood) and the test MUST be performed within 24 hours. The reason for the test is to insure that you have no street drugs or alcohol in your system.

This has nothing to do with fighting in hockey or legalizing marijuana but EVERYTHING to do with someone not doing their job.

I hate to sound like a prick but I'm calling a spade a spade.

That being aid, you cannot argue that medicinal marijuana as a painkiller alternative would be significantly safer that the opiate derivatives used today. Greg Giraldo, Heath ledger et al..... were all on pain meds for pain that was below what an opioid was truly necessary for, and they would not be dead today if they could use it as a legal option. I am in public health and these accidental deaths are skyrocketing. People prescribe opiates for way too much stuff.
