That was a shitty call. We got bailed out

We really did although this Portland State guy is like the Portland State version of Johnny Manziel

some of the throws he's done so far are something else

Targeting is such bullcrap these days. I guess technically it was targeting but come on. I get it but had that call been against Boise I’d be pissed.

I don't disagree, but everybody has got the same rules, especially in a situation like that. The ones that annoy me is when the ball carrier lowers their head and the tackler makes contact with what should have been his waist.

First installment of Boise State after dark, we play Portland State

I'm not even sure why we scheduled this game honestly, but somehow we're on ESPN 2

We had an extra week to prepare for what I would assume to be a mighty Portland State offense, or defense whatever their specialty is. They're call the Vikings and this is their logo

It sucks to be sure but as a Group of 5 we have to fight like hell just to get a measly 6 home games every single season.

How long Bachmeier waits in the pocket makes me nervous sometimes

Your QB might be in the concussion protocol b4 this one is over.

I understand that, just feels like we could have found someone at the FBS level to come here

Or at least add some excitement and play someone in-state like Idaho State or Idaho

Tough kid but he holds the ball for a long time. That’s gonna catch up to us. The back up Chase Cord is solid though. Plus he’s a great athlete. Not much drop off if any.

That's the challenge of starting a true freshman, hoping he starts to speed up his processing. We kind of need it to happen next week

...maybe 10 years ago. I think you guys have that figured out pretty good now. It is always going to be more challenging with a 9 game conference schedule, because you get 4 or 5. But you guys have done a nice job of figuring out the off years. I think adding the BYU series has helped a lot...that makes it automatically 5 home games. Then you can target home and aways or G5 at home P5 on the road or whatever works. It's a lot easier when you only have to slot 2 games and they are one of each, home and away. There are a couple of years where you don't have BYU on the docket where you might see another Portland type team. I think Boise has the schedule for the next 10 years that other G5's should emulate. You only have 4 open dates for the next 9 seasons and none before 2024, hard to complain about that.

Why did a hard hit on Bachmeier go on repeat like 7 times?

We got on a really good roll for a while there and now we're reaping the benefits. I'm worried about the point beyond 2028 because we need more P5 games

God I love the Broncos.....but, why? These games are scheduled 5-8 years out usually. I can't believe we couldn't find even a mid-tier P5 team even in a road-home-road deal to cover this spot.

Because Oregon didn’t want to schedule you guys anymore.

Unfortunately I think the health of the MWC has more to do with that than anything....unfortunate in that you can't control it. Hell, who knows what anything looks like in 10 years. The Pac thing might have screwed all that up by then. I've argued for years that the missed opportunity was during the last shakeup. A MWC/WAC merger would have been impressive.

Boise, TCU, Utah, BYU, Fresno St., Hawaii, SDSU, Nevada, Air Force, Wyoming, Colo. St., maybe one of the New Mexico's...pretty good nucleus there.

Because he finally has a concussion

Looks like it, luckily Cord is a sure backup

his experience is helpful in a game like this where we should be having an easier time than we are so far

There definitely was a window there for the conference that they failed to take advantage of

Hopefully we get the call one day to move up, but I don't even know where it would happen at this point
