Honestly, I have never looked into it. :burt:

I am sure PhillyPhaithful will being hittting this thread tonight, and I am 99% sure he plays.

Why hello

Hockey in Philly is very mixed. I grew up in an area where it's big and a lot of friends played. I was near a roller hockey rink so I played almost every day.

I would say it is tough in other parts. You need to be close to a rink, that's the biggest factor. If you're not near a rink you end up playing soccer/football/basketball because those are easier to accomodate for.

The opportunity is there, but it isn't as easy as other sports. Lots of driving. Lots of money, which I am sure is the same most other places.

I really had no idea how popular adult leagues were until I started posting on here. Seems like a lot of you do them

i play in a league that has 12 divisions with an average of 8 teams in each division. that is just ONE league in the arena I play at. I think they have 2.

Division 12 is the worst hockey ever
Division 11-10 is slightly better and almost on even par
Division 9-8 are better and on par with each other
Division 7-5 are pretty close but much hight thant 8 and below
Division 4 and 3 are better than 7-5 by a ways but close to each other
Division 2 stands on its own
Division 1 blows everyone even 2 out of the water.

I filled in goal for puckheads old team and they were pretty fucking good. one game we won 2-1 and one game I got blown out 5-0 or higher I stopped counting. correct me if Im wrong puck but wasnt there a guy on that team from a lower tier pro league from swizterland? that guy blew past me so bad I cramped up in 6 spots when he scored wraparound.

I have never played ice. I grew up in Nor Cal so it is very expensive and there is limited access to ice rinks.

I do play roller hockey though. Played goalie for five or six years and about the same amount of time playing forward. Over the last couple of years (translation: since I've been fat) I have been transitioning to defense.

I find that with speed I used to play like Patrick Marleau, not a lot of moves but I would skate right past you; without speed I know play like Adam Foote, I will slash, hook, and forearm shiver you in the back. :)

I wanted to play a few years ago. I signed up to take some beginner hockey lessons but I was the only adult so they put me in the kid class. Eight year olds are mean so I quit.

lol. yeah he set scoring records in Europe that still stand. I hate that fuckin' guy.
a glorified beer league, and he's getting paid $100 per game.

we played a 3 game series for the championship against that team, and my goal was to take him off the ice as often as possible - by ANY means necessary. Otherwise he would literally play 50 minutes of a 60 minute game. he didn't understand why I was so happy when we got called for coincidental roughing calls. by the second period we both got thrown out of the game (three minors and you are gone), I was getting high-fives on my way past my bench, and his bench was just wrecked. My biggest advantage is that I'm replaceable. :D
