It seems that we are supposed to believe Nebraska has a job posting for an offensive position that Pelini knows nothing about.

Bo is taking the Sergeant Schultz route with "I KNOW NOTHING!!!" and says perhaps it is an intern.

Well I call B.S.
1) Even if it is an intern if Bo doesn't at least give lip service approval then we have leadership problems in the program and

2) I admittedly know very little about the working of a major Collegiate football program but the duties seem to go way beyond that of an intern to me.

It seems more and more that Pelini is flat out lying to the media and indirectly to the fans. This is not Nebraskan ethics and he may get through it by stepping on the gas and putting this behind him quickly with an apology but if this is going to be standard operating procedures I see major problems in Bo's future.

I have no problems with not sharing all information but in this case a "No comment. I will not discuss that." would be the correct response not flat out lies.

I would say recently. Perhaps I am out of the mix but I would say he has gone from withholding information to lying recently.
And I will probably get hammered for this but Bo is a figure in Nebraska culture that many kids look to and will look to. I would of punched someone in the face as a kid if someone said Osborne was a liar and would want to today.

But now we have a head coach who, well is a liar. He has his reasons but is that what we want to teach our kids. It's ok to lie if you are in an important position and have what seems like good reason?

also, don't expect the athletic department to be very nice to the herald any time soon.

I don't care if the athletic department bans every press credential from the UNL campus and tell them 'No Comment' to every question ever received. I don't give a shit if they get butt hurt. But putting what is clearly lies out their for the whole world is a completely different ball of wax.

and ya a 'no comment' makes sense, but when asked the same question over and over, perhaps they just lied to get the people to stop asking.

You got to be fucking kidding me if you think he doesn't have a clue about job postings in his own department. The HR department of any corporation does not just decide to put up a posting. It has to be requested from someone and in this case the request would have come from the Athletic Department. Now if Bo didn't know about it then he has a loose cannon on his staff or he is still "not involved with the offense" which means it would have come from Watson.

Now this is possible if Watson is going to can Gilmore but do you really think that at some point in some meeting Watson wouldn't of come to Bo and said "Hey I think Gilmore needs to go" or "I saw so and so and I know there are no positions open but I think we really need to get this guy on our staff".

The only other possibility is that Osborne decided to can Watson and he has decided that Pelini is to incompetent to even bother discussing it with, and I highly doubt that.

The bottom line is that either Pelini doesn't have a clue what is going on with his staff or he is lying. You pick and use whatever size font and as much bold as you want. It doesn't change.

What makes you think I think I have the right to know? If you read my first post I said I don't give a damn if he bans every press credential from the campus. I also said he should have said "No comment" or "I said I am not going to discuss that"

I said I do not like that someone in that position representing our state lies like that. At one point in time Midwestern ethics thought it was wrong to lie. I guess I am an old fart but I will die with those ethics and I will never be afraid to stand up for them regardless of who it is I am speaking against to do that.

I believe Bo Pelini is the right person for the job....

I believe Bo Pelini is a young head coach and will make mistakes.....

1) Bo has a history of not commenting on things until the become official. Meaning nothing is official yet.

2) Has anyone in the media even asked about the status of Watson or Gilmore? Everything I read is about future OC's.

3) to the person who commented on Osborne not being a liar. Tom Osborne was not a head coach during the internet/message board era and would probably act similar to the way Pelini is now had the internet been around then.
