Texas and Detroit have a deal on the table, Prince Fielder for Ian Kinsler. Wow.

HAS to be a pure salary dump. Good Job by Detroit to rid themselves of that monstrosity. I wonder how much $$ they are sending to Texas?

Kinsler isn't cheap. But it's worth it to free up long term money. I wonder if Detroit has to pay some of the freight?

This is almost a Fielder for Kinsler and Scherzer. Detroit wan't going to be able to sign Scherzer after next season with Prince on the books, but this frees up a ton of cash.

For Texas, they find their guy they've been looking for since Hamilton left and they get to keep Profar and Andrus, who I think will be better for them going forward than Kinsler would have been.

Great trade for both teams IMO.

I think this all depends on how much Detroit has to fork over. If they are dumping the contract, GREAT trade, regardless of the return. If they are n the hook for a decent chunk, than it doesn't really free anything up since Kinsler is not cheap either.

I said that Detroit would regret that contract the SECOND it was announced. They eventually figured it out.

Rangers made this trade to free up room for Profar. I'd be really surprised if they went after Cano.

I heard talks about Tigers moving Kinsler to LF and going for Cano.

Finally the Tigers can move Cabrera where he should be playing, first base, they made space for Castellanos at 3B and they freed money to resign Scherzer.

Great trade for the Tigers

Fantastic trade for the Tigers. I'm shocked that Texas learned nothing from that fiasco of a contract they gave A-roid.

Do they really regret it? Or are they just being smart with their money. Seems to me they went for broke trying to win a championship, and unfortunately for them came up a bit short two years in a row.
