Yeahhhhhh, have fun with that in a few years.
We will, gladly
I imagine Hossa is all but gone now. Weren't the Hawks close to the cap already?
8 @ 10.5? Yeeesh.
I only say that because Johansen's agent is using the name Toews a lot in discussions. Johnny T earned it. Kaner too.
It'll be a back breaker in a few years, but now...

It's the way the league is trending, but I highly doubt both these guys stay in town with those deals. They'll need a BIG jump in the cap. They've done well in developing some of these young guys on entry level deals, and they'll need more of that too.
I just looked and capgeek has them 2.2 over. Hossa is a 5.75.
Boll makes 3/yr, so an even up swap of Hossa and Boll puts them at the cap. I am willing to help you out, Chicago. Call me.
BURROWS FOR HOSSA

Edit: Capgeek is without the Kane/Toews deal. That adds 8m. I guess I'll have to take Seabrook and Bickell too. I will give back Savard (1m) and Calvert (1m)
dont forget, they are entering their final year at 6.3. This money starts after this upcoming season, not this season. Their cap money entering 2015-2016 is 50.785 million, thats with Hoss and Sharp. They will get hurt on the blue line, with Leddy and Oduya being UFA, but its time for Bowman to trust the system and stop going out to get the veterans. They gave up on Stanton, Olsen, Pirri, Hayes last season. They cant afford to do that anymore.
If Teuvo, McNeil, Clendening and the swedes they signed make it, the cap wont be an issue, its just how they continue to go about it.
