Yeah, Toews had a couple nice plays last night, but its usually double digits per night.

Darling has held up pretty well for a guy that usually gets one game every three weeks. It would be nice to see more of a rotation when both goalies are healthy, nobody is hiding Darling from free agency anymore and crow needs to stay fresh. At least its not an injury with Crow that he will be working up from, but I worry about that groin after not playing for so long.

They cant protect Darling from free agency, cant protect him from the expansion draft, so let him play.

Now that the kids are producing they are definitely losing someone to vegas.

Good point, definitely a good chance Darling gets taken if he's exposed. It's clear both of these guys play better when they are getting regular starts - although I'd hate to see BOTH of them go into a funk if they're only playing every other game or so...

Saw some early reports that Panarin has signed for 2 years 12 million yesterday. Sounds like the delay is the hawks wanting more years at 6 million so the 10 million comes up a few years later.

Really like the Panarin extension. Two years is good.
The kid seems like the real deal. Everything Teravainen was NOT.
Now if only he'd get a little selfish.
Shoot more instead of pass.

got to see alot of last nights game. Q double shifted Kane and Panarin in the third, Kane scored his goal while he was on the fourth line, a great job of those fourth liners all filling lanes to the net and Rinne playing for the pass watches the wrister go right past him.

I really love watching the Hawks play outdoors, but their performances out there are pretty bad.

Soup really looks Rosi slow out there lately. I cant believe people are worried about signing him again and being able to afford Panarin. We are stashing D men everywhere and TVR is really starting to play again. I think he even had 4 or 5 shots yesterday outdoors.

Was just talking about the Hawks poor outdoor record a little while ago.

Definitely not worried about re-signing Campbell. He was a one-year acquisition, nothing more.

A very unsubstantiated rumor has the Hawks sniffing around Thomas Vanek.

Hawks are being tied to every veteran out there right now. I hope they learn from last year, losing youth for Fleischmann, Weise and Ladd last year. Danault was someone that could have slid into Kruegers role pretty cheap. But I am sure they will bring someone in so they can put some of these kids back in rockford and kill their confidence.

I am still waiting for Hartman to get on that top line with Toews and Hossa, or should I say real second line.

It would have been nice for Panarin to have signed for 3 years because we know his next deal is gonna be around 9 or 10 per.

Well, the Hawks don't really have any difference maker prospects so they really are in win now mode. At some point, they will pass the Cup contender window with this current group and be forced into rebuild mode. I don't mind them making another move this year to take a shot at another Cup. It really depends on what is wrong with Toews. If he is truly fighting an injury that likely won't heal without off-season surgery, there's no point in trading picks or prospects. If he just needs better players around him or is making progress in his recovery, then go for it.

Who are you dealing for full rebuild? Kane, Toews, Keith, Panarin, Anisimov, Hossa, Hammer, Crawford, Seabum?

Are you willing to give up Hartman, Vinnie or Schmaltz to get another rental? As far as system guys, I think Fortin has a huge future with this team, still like Forsling and Pokka on the back end, and Tyler Motte is an upside player too. I was thoroughly confused when Motte was on the hawk roster and ended up being a PK guy, but I can see a line with Fortin being to Toews left being as big as Saad or Sharp ever was. I dont know if half means full rebuild because I dont see them moving many of those top guys.

I trust that Q already knows which if any young players have a future in Chicago, and which they should move now before their trade value goes the way of Mark McNeill. Yeah, they made a mistake on Danault, but looking back over recent history we see that was a rare exception.

It would be more than a bit ironic if their trade deadline acquisitions this year were Sharp and Oduya...

I'm going to be laughed out of the thread, but I suppose Landeskog is out of range for us?

Sounds like he carries a reasonable cap number.

Haha, we try not to be too judgemental....

I'm sure the Hawks have at least kicked the tired on Landeskog. He's signed for $5.5 mil/yr through 2021 though so, in light of Panarin's extension, they'd almost certainly have to move another high priced player to be able to afford him past this season. I know there have been some calls to move Seabrook, but I don't see that happening.

Better not! I bought a Seabrook jersey last year, damnit! LOL! (Admittedly he's had a meh year though)

What about off-loading Crow and hang our hopes on Darling ?

They will definitely have an interesting decision to make in the offseason, in terms of which goalie to expose in the Las Vegas expansion draft. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was Crow, although I think they'd probably try to move him in a trade prior to the expansion draft rather than lose him for nothing. He definitely has some trade value. I don't see them moving him during the season this year, though.

I dont know how it can be a problem since Darling is an unrestricted free agent. Keith and Hossas contracts both have them against the cap whether they are here or not. Darling has to decide if he wants to take safe money or become a full time goalie.

True, but the main point being is that it is unlikely that both Crawford and Darling will be back next season.

I just cannot see protecting the unrestricted free agent. I dont know what Vegas is going to want. They will still need to get to the cap floor and I am sure there will be some big names unprotected for a team looking for cap space without taking anything back.
