Chargers to interview Caldwell, Gamble, Keim for GM | UTSanDiego.com

Gamble, son of former Eagles president and GM Harry Gamble, grew up around the game and has a well-rounded portfolio, including experience in pro scouting, college scouting, NFL coaching and contract negotiations, that makes him an intriguing candidate around the league. He is in his 24th NFL season.

I probably need to resign myself to the fact that it'll only be a matter of time before he's gone, but it's hard to come to grips with that. I really, really like Gamble.

Argh!!!

Ryan O'Halloran: Source on Gamble, #Jaguars GM candidate: "Straight shooter. No nonsense. Knows the game and is a tough grader, which is good. Grinder."

Matt Miller:

Sounds more and more like Andy Reid and Tom Heckert to Arizona with Ray Horton staying as DC. Hearing Pat Shurmur as OC potentially.

Kent Somers:

Also told Tom Heckert is not under consideration for GM by Cardinals.

Ian Rapoport:

Per source, what will Andy Reid's pitch to the #Cardinals will be: "I can fix Kevin Kolb." Arizona would like to keep Kolb if possible.

Another solid name.

David Haugh: Add another assistant to Phil Emery's list: Bears ask permission to interview Packers offensive coordinator Tom Clements, per league source.

Top candidates to be the Cleveland Browns' next general manager | cleveland.com

David Caldwell, Atlanta Falcons director of player personnel: A source told The Plain Dealer that Caldwell is a strong candidate for the job. He was Falcons director of college scouting for four years before moving to his current position before this season. He is being linked with several NFL openings and has interviewed with the Jaguars.

Schefter:

One source close to Andy Reid insisted deal w/ Cards not close. Another source said Cards search open and no leading candidate at this time

The comments out of the Bears are interesting, they acknowledge that they have the defense in place but need someone to fix their offense. That'd be pretty funny if they talked Holmgren into coming back.

Darin Gantt: Love Falcons announcement Koetter "will not pursue" other jobs. Translated, wasn't a favorite for HC jobs, worked his employer for a raise.

I keep talking about how so many teams are interviewing some really good names, which is a rare thing in my opinion, but I've never loved Koetter as a coach.

Source who knows 2 of the Jags GM candidates said Khan came across well-prepared, impressive guy, personable, guy you'd want to work for.

I'm told the Eagles have zero interest in Bill Cowher, who ESPN reported was "in play for the Birds' job."

Good to hear. Even in just the various interviews and features I've seen him in, he just seems so smart and focused on success. Which is why I think there's about a zero percent chance they're in Jacksonville longer than a few more years.....there are too many good markets out there, he's too good a businessman.

Bears return man Devin Hester pondering retirement after Lovie Smith?s firing | Shutdown Corner - Yahoo! Sports

Sorry if this was posted already, I'm not that surprised that Hester is bored of the NFL. The one thing that he's really really great at, nobody lets him do. Nobody Kicks to him anymore.

I fully understand yours and his take. That said, Devin Hester would be a total idiot if he bailed now...he is one return away from trailblazing his way into the HOF. His race towards the record-book is unparalleled, and one HAS TO believe that he's good for at least 1 more return? At barely 30 years old, I'm inclined to believe that he still could DESTROY that record, setting a new one that would never be reached.

Jay Glazer:

Blake Williams, Gregg Williams son and guy running his defense for Rams this season, is OUT in St. Louis.

Williams in looking for another job is telling other coaches he and Gregg Williams are gone, although decision on Gregg won't be made til he's reinstated.

I've talked to ALOT of people who really like him as a coach.

Michael Silver: Blake Williams, according to the source, was fired in part because of a brusque, tactless style in dealing with colleagues and players...
