@Sharkonabicycle

You got your christmas wish

Not sure if it's really a Christmas wish...

I just would be baffled as to why they'd stick with Grubb and don't understand how anyone can agree with his philosophy of running an NFL offense that way. It legit baffles me why some Seahawks fans wanted to keep him (is it a UW thing?). I was intrigued by what he could do and I don't think it was a bad hiring, but he tried to take an NCAAF offense (where he wasn't calling the plays) to an NFL offense and that has NEVER worked unless an NCAA team is running a pro style offense.

Nevermind the 2nd fewest rushing attempts in the league, or the #1 most shotgun % passing plays.. but let's also not forget a complete lack of ability to get a first down with 1 yard to go, draw up anything on short yardage situations other than 20 yard route plays, a wide receiver crew that all seemed bunched together allowing easy picks for a D, and that absolutely stupid ass system of a no huddle defense but then calling plays at the line, resulting in tried and true false starts, delays, and miscommunication resulting in sacks.

Whatever. We're done with it. Thank God.

NOW, the big question is who does Seattle go get? Frankly Schneider's ass after putting together one of the worst free agencies in Seahawks history is on the hot seat more than Mac. And Thank God for that, because if Mac was stuck with Grubb because Schneider wanted to play hero ball with no OL, than hopefully Mac gets some decision making. He at least understands the importance of an OL given time at Michigan and under Harbaugh's acumen.

Not a shock. A lot of Seahawks fans wanted him gone.

Wasn't even Seahawks fans... if you put bias aside, the offensive system he was running was beyond baffling for the NFL. A LOT of fans considered it a joke. Seattle went from a 10 EPA or so to a 20 EPA or so and that was from Waldron.. with basically every single player returning from a YOUNG offense (at least at the skill position) and actually the OL 'improving' because Cross/Lucas would be back...

Grubb's version of an offense was basically "I'm taking the NCAA approach". Remember Chip Kelly? Yah - how'd that work out?

Grubb going is great news. Early on, I wanted to see what he could do but he's like a cross of Chip Kelly and Mike Martz. As for the running game, Grubb wouldn't even make an effort to stick with it even when it did work and Walker is just Penny 2.0. Dude gets injured taking a dump, it seems

Kinda interesting how the roles have reversed. Bengals were able to bully the Chiefs and Bills a bit because they had a defense but it seems like they lost a few players and the coach couldn't adjust.
Didn't they lose a few guys on that side of the ball because they didn't want to pay them. I believe that's why they lost Jesse Bates. He was a key piece for Anarumo in that defense.

DJ Reader played well for them, too

Raiders fired their GM today...so they're in the market for a GM...will they do it right and hire the GM then let him hire a coach so it's a cohesive unit?

Wouldn't surprise me to see Brady try to step in more as that GM type role. Kind of like when Elway took over as President of football operations which really meant he was GM. I would be shocked if Brady can just sit back and be a silent minority owner. Sounds like he had a lot to do with the firing of Telesco and Davis seems to be leaning in hard to Brady for this coaching hire.

I guess that makes you wonder which name makes the most sense to Brady. Aaron Glenn? Liam Coen? Spags?

Great question...This could also be the big move to try and entice one of the big names in Vrabel or Johnson to try and come offering them more power in the HC position than in other spots. Personally, if I were a head coach I think my own job is hard enough. I would not want GM responsibilities as well and would rather have a GM I can work with well and trust them to do their job.

If I had to guess right now Liam Coen will be the choice. Raiders might be out of the running for one of the top QB's in this draft so could be trying to go the FA way and they just saw how Coen did with Mayfield.

I hope he's more intelligent about it than that. Just because he was a great QB doesn't qualify him as an NFL executive. The skill set is vastly different for each of those jobs. I honestly can't believe he'll do that, I believe he's more intelligent than that.
