Most of you Seattle folks know how against him I am after this season but some other facts. Our offensive EPA dropped 10 spots (now Waldron was fired too, makes me wonder if Pete knew when to take over for Waldron and Mac doesn't), we ran the ball the 2nd lowest in the league (granted we did in 2023 but we allowed about 60 more points), and we were one of the fewest teams to run playaction. Seattle also had an alarmingly high shotgun snap % compared to other NFL teams while fielding a poor OL and decent but non-elite QB.

So I'm sure someone is going to say, "Shark we couldn't run the ball because our line was bad." Well wtf? You had two 2nd round runningbacks.. and a line that was probably better than Seattle's in 2023 where Cross/Lucas were out again.. I mean Seattle's D was absolutely terrible in 2023 so I get the need to pass more, but Mac in the 2nd half had the D to at least top 10 or mis or so...

I’m not really surprised the Pats fired Mayo - they were an absolute disaster this season. I bet they try to hire Vrabel.

What did they really expect? Easily the worst roster in the NFL.

Not a single offensive player that is above average. Maybe Onwenu but not a single team would want him at the contract they handed him.

And on defense the only player worth anything is Gonzalez. Maybe White who filled in admirably for their vastly overpaid interior DL interior.

What they really should have done is announced they are firing Belichick all over again so at least the person most responsible for their abysmal situation would be taking the blame today.

I agree they had an awful roster, Mayo likely should never have been hired in the first place, he seemed kind of in over his head but it was a very hard situation for him. Like I say, I bet they go for Vrabel

Who do you think they’ll go for? I know Ben Johnson is a hot name, if he’s interested I could definitely see them hiring him.

It might be Vrabel. I don't think Johnson would choose NE. Whoever picks NE probably needs to already have coaching experience because that fan base probably wants quick results

I don't see any coach turning that into a winner for at least a couple years. That roster is awful. I'm sure there are some players there, but they looked lousy on both sides of the ball game in and game out.
