It's obviously an opinion piece, but I just always find it shocking how hard so many of these superstars fail on the rangers.

It is amazing how they do fail so far.

But Gaborik and jagr both were solid heck gaborik hit 40 twice and jagr 50. They need to move some of that depth on d. Instead of just giving someone $80 million!

Trade for a guy like clarkson and he will produce. Pay him $60 million and he wont

I think Torts is the overall problem..3 highly skilled players and 9th in the conference? Thats a joke. I appreciate 2way hockey as much as anyone but actually teach it instead of having guys take 5 pucks to the knees every single game. Thats only gonna go so far in the NHL and you gotta think guys like Richards dont love it.

And I agree that guys tend to lose the drive once getting a huge contract. Especially when its a player going to a new team. Plenty of examples of that around the league.
