At the start of preseason, Allen was clearly behind the other 2 QBs, who generally split most of the reps with the starters.
Peterman looked a little better most of the time.
MCarron got hurt, allowing Allen to get more reps and more game action. Allen showed he was much closer to being ready to start, making McCarron expendable.
Peterman earned the start in week 1 with his play in the preseason. Unfortunately, in two "high pressure" starts, he's been comically bad.
Peterman earned his spot on the bench with his play. I'm guessing that Allen does the same at least once before the season is over.
