I guess nothing in Week 1 should be too surprising, since teams and players have had an entire offseason to get better or worse. Still, I was pretty surprised by Atlanta's defense last night, particularly in the first half. That unit was awful last year.

Sproles is the man! Not too surprising that AP was a bit rusty after a year off, is it?
i once said sproles was the saints MVP and got laughed at back at cbs (hi @DirtDirtDirt )

i expected AP to come out on a mission after everything, make a statement.

I think he did make a statement. It just wasn't the statement he was hoping to make...

I guess I kind of did too. Perhaps the 9er defense deserves a bit of credit. I recall lots of discussion this past offseason about how badly that unit had deteriorated.

I'm surprised that the Packers still have a shitty run defense

49ers, and the way they rebounded after the off season fiasco.

Man, I thought the Steelers would win next Sunday. Now even that seems like an uphill task.

ATL OL & running game...yeah I hear ya on the D, but I knew the players overall were better than result LY...the LB additions made a huge difference there. But...everyone that saw them in camp said the OL wasn't getting this ZBS, etc...they had not run the ball well at all in preseason...Coleman looked good last night, and the OL protected well for the most part...PHI has a good front 7 so you have to expect Matt to take some sacks and he did. They did bring pressure a lot.

Other than the offense and the defense, my Raiders looked pretty good. :L

Chiefs O-line is up there. Just about everyone, with good reason, outside of KC was hammering that line going into the season. Everyone but the RT (the guy "blocking" Watt) graded positively; with the rookie center grading the highest among centers this week. If they continue to play like that against good front 7's, I'll adjust my expectations.

It didn't surprise me that they won but it surprised me how big of a beating they put on the Colts. I am one that said this summer that the Colts were a very overrated team as they didn't fix their problems on either side of the line. Still I thought they would keep that game a little more interesting.

I picked BUF, and watched the game and still was surprised at the way they controlled the Colts OL w/o Dareus...watching the game...it was never a contest really.

Yeah I picked them to win too. Home game with that strong defense I figured they would cause some problems for Luck but I just didn't think they would dominate in the way they did. I was also surprised at how decent the Bills offense looked. While the Colts don't have a great defense they have been at least middle of the pack or even slightly better so they don't have a terrible defense either. They looked lost though out there at times.
