Big12 should just get Boise State to replace A&M

Iowa State's in the Big 12 so why not, plus after a year in the Big 12 our stadium will in fact be bigger than Iowa State's. Plus the rest of our programs aren't as bad as theirs.

I agree. Boise joined a conference that had Utah, BYU and TCU and they've all left or will be going. Not much better than the WAC. They would be a welcome addition and might help attract BYU to the conference.

That is a disingenuous smoke screen

FOOTBALL drives the BUS. EVERYONE knows that.

It's all about football and TV contracts.

The question is how much leverage would BSU give for the tv contract. PERIOD. Locally not a huge audience but our national appeal has been growing. Folks would tune in just to see how BSU would do in an AQ.

BSU is on the list I just don't know how far down the list.

BYU, Boise State, and The Air Force Academy would the three most acceptable candidates after A&M leaves for the Big12.

They would keep some legitimacy with the Big12.

Big 12 could/should invite BSU, TCU, Houston, BYU and SMU.

If they all bite, you got yourself a decent 14 team conference. If they don't all bite, the offer should only be to BSU, TCU & BYU. Houston & SMU would just be filler.

I know the whack jobs on BC eat up the perceived disrespect but the vast majority of BSU fans would be out the door looking for their uhauls before the Big12 got all the words of the invite out.

In fact there are threads on several boards trying to game out how likely it is the Big 12 would ask us in.

Still they get a game in Cali every two years to grab recruits. Also, as I pointed out with the South Florida effect, you add SDSU to a BCS league and they will draw more fans, recruits, etc.

Just under 500,000 in the area.

A little bigger than Eugene. Someone had posted that info in the past month...not sure where on here though.

It's not a huge market but I think we got some folks outside the area who would watch. We do a pretty good job of selling Nike gear and there is a bit of the novelty factor. Might just be wishful thinking though.

If the shitty conference is going to survive I would like to add Boise for legitimate competition in football, SDSU for Cali markets and recruiting fields, and a Florida team for Florida sets and recruiting grounds. Too bad it will never happen.
