Big Ten Stadium Rankings

Don't know if anybody has following this, but the Big Ten blog on ESPN has been counting down the best stadiums in the B1G. So far, they have ranked them as:

12. Indiana
11. Purdue
10. Northwestern
9. Illinois
8. Minnesota
7. Michigan State
6. Michigan

Anyways, I just thought this could spur some good discussion. What have they gotten right, what have they gotten wrong? What should the rest of the order be? What are the best and worst aspect of the different stadiums?

Well, from what I've read, it's full of old, rich people. They aren't exactly the type to go crazy. I had actually pegged Iowa at #6 just based on school history.

As an Ohio St fan, I'm shocked that Michigan Stadium is ranked that low. Is Penn St gonna count or are they going to get the death penalty before the ratings are complete?

Due to a glitch, we already know Camp Randall is #2 (they accidentally posted it to the Wisconsin Team Page).

I'm only going to speak for the stadiums I have seen games in. I'd go:

1. Ohio State
2. Wisconsin
3. Iowa
4. Michigan
5. Minnesota
6. Michigan State
7. Illinois
8. Northwestern

I've also passed Indiana and Purdue's stadiums. They both go below Illinois from what I have seen.

Based on TV, i'd put PSU at #4 and Nebraska at #6. IMO, there is a big break between the top six and the bottom six.

Here's what I think they will have.

5. Iowa
4. Wisconsin
3. Nebraska

It's really 2 different rankings in the top 5. There is the Top 3 and the next 2. Iowa and Wisconsin are battling for #4. Even though Iowa and Wisconsin have intense atmospheres at their stadium - they are not at the level of the stadium, atmosphere, and tradition of Nebraska, Penn State, and Ohio State.

Just walk up and down Melrose. You'll run into your usual dumb college kids but most everyone I've tailgated with is cool with other fans.
