you remember the season where aggys had the bonfire collapse? Texas came out there and helped and the aggys kept pulling fire alarms at the hotel throughout the night..

I knew as soon as that tragedy happened, we'd lose that game

I bet Larry Scott would have told Texas keep the LHN network, the PAC network would not have been affected with ou, okie light and Tech being included. It would have been carried coast to coast.
100% agree - been saying that with my Big 12 fans since the whole thing was shut down

by chance, do you know how it would have looked as far as divisions? It would be 16 schools total right? Would Utah still get the invite?

There was all kinds of speculation- best one I recall was the Big 12 schools + the LA & AZ schools & then obviously the Pacific NW schools + Bay Area & Colorado/Utah. There was talk of zipper divisions too. Splitting the rivalry schools but maintaining their annual game, that would allow a potential rivalry championship game.

I really wish this would’ve happened.

I'd think it would be better for a zipper divisions.. the 8 team south conference would have the majority of the talent. Oregon, Washington need to play in Texas and SoCal every year to build those pipelines

Yes valid point - that was another reason for the zipper divisions. But the PAC Coug’d it, so here we are.

I'm listening to a Longhorn podcast.. the 247 guys are saying West VA was trying to hold out for 12 full games, which is why the decision was so delayed

Give 'em a break. They have a lot of old couches that need burning.

It’s not shocking but it’d be real stupid to do that. Aside from the pandemic, if everyone else is playing 10 games it really makes zero sense to play 12. Risk injury and losing which is why I’m for the 9+1 model.

Only thing I can think of is the fatass governor will let 50% capacity and the AD wanted 7/8 home games.

People seem to be talking like the first Conference game will be Sept 26th, with an OOC game being played before that, 1 week, or 2, ahead of it.

So it looks like Oklahoma is going to want to play on September 12th, in order to have a Bye week before the opening of Conference play.

Missouri State has a game scheduled with Montana that date, our original OOC Sept 5th opponent.

I'm thinking that Montana is going to get fucked.

That looks pretty solid and both divisions would be competitive on paper.
