Yeah, it has zero to do with my dislike for his team, he literally puts me to sleep. It starts as a slow zoning out around the third, then the next thing I know, I open my eyes and it's the 7th inning! :gaah:
Um, Moxie...

That wasn't Scully. You just got mickied...

Dick Enberg has announced 2016 will be his last with the Padres.

There is a merciful God in heaven.

Mark Grace was awesome. I'd take him back in a heart beat. Although I don't know if there is any relation but since he became the dbacks assistant hitting coach they've had a top 5 offense in baseball.

But to answer the OP, the Cardinals broadcasters are easily the worst in the business. It's not even close. I think after every game they both personally give Yadier Molina a blowjob. I already made a thread about how terrible they are.

I like Thom Brennaman too. Him and Grace made the perfect duo.

Love Mark Grace. Love him!

But Thom? He's the biggest Yadi knob-slobber of them all.

How did he get into the Hall?

I really don't know the answer but it must have been his career and not what he did with the Padres. I tried so hard to like him and in the end threw my hands up and admitted how bad he is. Not horrible, but bad. The mispronunciation of Latino names was like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

Example: If you ask 100 people to say Sanchez, they'll pronounce it SAN-chez, right? Not Dick Enberg. For him it's sahn-CHEZ.

Watching hundreds and hundreds of Padres games since he came on board has become increasingly difficult. It was interesting to watch fan reaction on Instagram as the announcement was made and the vast majority were like mine; respectful but thankful that it's coming to an end and only wishing it were this season.

Mike Pomeranz and Mark Grant are a dynamic duo. I really hope it's those two for many years to come.

Well, if you want to go person-by-person with the Dodgers, there's of course Vin Scully who is on another level. Then, way after him, there's the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

Good
Alanna Rizzo - She anchors all the on-field stuff and does a lot of interviews. She's bilingual and she doesn't ask stupid questions. Seems to have excellent rapport with the players. I normally can't stand sideline reporters, but she kills it.

Kelli Tennant - Alanna's back-up, hosts a behind-the-scenes show. Not as good as Rizzo but still does a great job.

Nomar Garciaparra - No chemistry with Orel, but that's because Orel is weird. When it's just Nomar and Charlie, life is so much better. They let Nomar be the expert on hitting and defense and Orel is the pitcher (duh). Nomar does his part very well.

John Hartung - in-studio host, he's harmless. That's all you want from your host.

Charlie Steiner - Play-by-play. He's hot and cold, but mostly does well. Can be funny. His old Sportscenter footage never gets old.

Bad
Orel Hershiser - So boring. So awkward. Just a giant dork. As the pitching expert, one time Charlie asked him to explain the difference between a slider and a cutter. After about 5 minutes of nonsense, he finished his explanation by saying that sliders have the dot. At no point did he seem to think it was relevant to point out that a cutter is a fastball variant while a slider is an off-speed breaking pitch. Pretty sure that's where the difference between the two begins. That was the day he lost his credibility. In my world, his World Series MVP karma is spent.

Rick Monday - Boring, spews old-timey platitudes. Only radio. Thanks for saving the American flag, please retire.

Jerry Hairston Jr. - A regular in-studio guy. He can be funny, but his analysis is meh. Talks about himself too much. He's almost in the good category, just because he's a pretty harmless and friendly TV personality.

Ugly
Ned Colletti - Yeah, he's on SNLA. Jesus Christ. He did color analysis during Spring Training and that was actually pretty good. However, since then he has been in-studio and god awful. I remember him being excited the Dodgers added Michael Morse in that trade with Atlanta and Miami this year. Holy hell.

Kevin Kennedy - Easily the worst "expert" associated with the Dodgers. Only radio. Barf.

David Vassegh - He's a "reporter" who appears on MLBN and hosts DodgerTalk with Kevin Kennedy. If you want to know how the stupidest Dodger fans think, listen to this show. He is so bad. He tries to give opinions and always has awful takes, then even when he is reporting news he gets things wrong all the time. I'm just a fan with twitter and I feel like I'm more competent with delivering up-to-date Dodgers info than he is. This fool is actually at the Stadium.

THE LEVEL SO FILLED WITH PUKE AND BLEEDING EARS THAT IT MUST NOT BE NAMED

Here is the place where we close our eyes, bow our heads, and give thanks to the Big Blue Dodger Fan in the Sky. Steve Lyons is gone. STEVE LYONS IS GONE! WOOOO!!!!

Mets announcers are great. Love me some Gary, Keith and Ron!

The worst at the Nats announcers. I've never seen such homerism in all my days of watching baseball. They openly root for the Nats as the game goes on. It's ridiculous.

I now like Mario Impemba and Rod Allen a lot for Tigers games.

I don't think Tiger fans appreciated Rod Allen until Kirk Gibson and Jack Morris started taking turns as the analyst to Mario. As much as I loved Jack and Gibby as players, they are atrociously bad announcers.

I don't hate Joe Buck, but I do find him incredibly boring.

John Kruk is awesome.

I dont think homerism for a team crew is a bad thing. It is just about HOW they do their homerism. If the crew is blind to the other team and acts as if "their team" is the hero and can do no wrong, than yes, that sucks (Hawk, the Padre crew). If they acknowledge the other team and criticize "their team" when appropriate, that is solid (Giants, what I have heard of the Mets crew).

I agree. Homerism doesn't have to be a bad thing. But when the Nats announcers are grunting, groaning and cheering openly on the air, it's pathetic.

For the Bucs, I love Greg Brown's enthusiasm, but Tim Neverett does nothing for me, I'm totally ambivalent to him.

Blass is hilarious, but he seems opposed to learning anything new about the game, and that grates on me a bit. But he seems to be friends with everyone in Pittsburgh, and his random birthday wishes to Pirates' fans add something unique, and every time he talks about Clemente it's heartwarming.

Bob Walk bothers me a bit, especially paired with Brown, but I like his sense of humor.

John Wehner is my favorite of their color commentators. He really seems to study the game and try to understand it. His voice is sleep-inducing, but once you get past that, he's remarkably insightful.

But overall, Scully and Miller are tops for me, in that order. I love listening to both guys.
