This situation will prove out that franchise QB's like Dak shouldn't be afraid of the franchise tag.
Even with this injury, Dak is going to make more money than had he signed the contract that was offered to him 2 years ago.
People shouldn't be crying for Dak. He is a lock to make $37m next year barring a MASSIVE infection. No way the Cowboys don't franchise him. He then will get to play however many games he thinks he can and needs to next year (probably somewhere between 3-8 games is my guess) and then still be up for a massive extension on a free agent market that will be looking at a cap space of $250m per team.
Yeah, He's going to be franchised next year and if he comes back healthy he'll actually sign a bigger deal than the one the Cowboys offered him. Don't get me wrong, this totally sucks for him but there's a very good chance that he won't lose a dime because of the injury.
