This is strictly hypothetical at this point (I have B1G CCG tickets and that will *hopefully* be my road trip for the year) but what do you guys think would be the coolest away game to attend? The obvious choice seems to be Wisconsin, but both the Big House and Happy Valley would be pretty cool too.

It depends on what you want. If its to be THE game of the reg. season with the most meaning then Wis. If you want to start a history tour I would start with Happy Valley at Penn St. Its the longest trip and makes it so if money is tighter in the future that you can still continue the tour by going to progressively closer games and take it a little easier on the budget. Just a thought. When I was doing centerless grinding of surgical guide wires I always liked to get the tougher or longer jobs out the the way 1st so as the week wore one that I could keep into work by having the jobs change quicker. Sometimes its nice to be able to get there and get back quicker. And if you are driving gas hasn't been getting any cheaper (or really noticeably anyway).

Me I just want to make it to Chadron States centennial home game and that celebration and a Husker Home game. Personally I am not interested in the B10 that much but as a Husker fan you got to move on and support the team or you are not a fan really.

Whatever you do have a GREAT TIME. I am sure you will be able to find a local Husker org. where ever you go and they will be able to help you out some. One of the threads has a list of Husker org. for each state and who to contact and that info.

I definitely appreciate the advice. Unfortunately I am likely to do the opposite, since I am still a student at Nebraska and, in typical college student fashion, have very little money at this time (but have the potential to make more later). Luckily I will get to go to all of the home games. When I do end up going on a trip, I would imagine it would be close to home. I'm hoping for the Big Ten Championship (if we make it) this year and Iowa next year. I already miss buying $5 tickets from drunk girls at Iowa State though.

I think the atmosphere at Whisky will be incredible this season. I'd go there in a heartbeat if given the opportunity. BUT, in the big picture, I want to see NU play in the Big House once. Such an historical stadium, I'd probably miss the game for looking around at the place.

Penn St. is an easy first choice for me. It's easy to reason in my head. Joe Pa is 84. He might not be there the next time the Huskers play there.

Sorry I didn't pay attn. to you still being a student. But some of the guys have made a very good point, if you wait you may miss out on a Joe Pa coached Penn. St. team. That gives it three pts. its the longest or one of the longest trips, their Coach is a coaching icon and old would be like if TO was still coaching, that would be a big draw also, and Happy Valley is supposed to be a great and tough place to play. Otherwise I think Wis would be your best game this year. Least on paper for this year. we will find out. If you want to go to the newest stadium in the B10 that would be MN and its not that long a drive. I live an hour and a half a way. But it is a tougher place to drive around to and get parking for cause of where it is. Me for awhile will make the trip to Lincoln. Went there last year for the Mizzou game and it was GREAT! My 1st ever Major college FB game and it was a good one to go to. The only one I would have liked to have gone to was an Neb/OU game cause of the history the two schools have playing each other and I expect that they would have an extra special pre game program for the fans for that game. But I wanted to be able to make it to a Neb. home game while we were still a part of the B12 and be a part of that history cause included teams we have A lot of history with. Plus Gabbert is a pretty good QB and I wanted to see Gabert vx our D and we know how it turned out. I was very lucky and was able to get tickets in two weeks b4 the game. Even can see where I was sitting in one of Helus long runs for TD which is way cool.

Have you thought of another College way to do things is to car pool? that might make it so you could go to Happy Valley and see a Joe Pa team at their place. I know we did stuff like that when I was in college to make it to places we wanted to go to or make some event.
Just a thought it might work.
