If Tom Cruise doesn't reprise his role as Maverick I will be utterly disappointed.
I have never even heard that possibility as a remote theory. From what I have heard (not much, tbh), Cruise is all-in on this project.

Rumors about the sequel began swirling five years ago, with original filmmaker Tony Scott attached to direct at the time, according to The Guardian. But after the director's apparent suicide in 2012, a new director has yet to be announced.

When Scott began developing the movie, he, too, planned on focusing it around drones, though without the focus being put on Cruise. "It's a whole different world now,"

I only referenced it as a Stone movie I liked. I generally hate Oliver Stone.
Doors was AWESOME

Platoon was really good (although surprising short)

Born on the Fourth was alright, but ultimately just your typical Stone propaganda flick

JFK was just Stone masterbating on film. Utter crap

Natural Born had its charm, but is still difficult to label as “good”

Wall Street was great

Couldn’t stand that flick.
Damn....So, I guess you didn't like Valley Girl either.

I liked early Nick Cage.

Well, early to mid Cage because I liked the Rock and Face off as well.

Rock and Face/Off were great. Cage actually showed he could act in those movies.

But early and late Cage is cringe-worthy.

Yeah I probably should add Wall Street as a really good film. He nailed the 80s zeitgeist with that.

JFK was such a horrible film that it ruined Stone for me. Natural Born Killers was trying so hard to be a commentary on society and it just fell flat on its face.

Talk Radio annoyed the shit out of me.

Nixon was pretty terrible because he was so busy trying to smear Nixon he forgot to make an actual movie.

He was better with W. but, still, not the guy I would want doing a film about Bush Jr.
