I'd say see those two or wait til next week for Guardians of the Galaxy. That or find a torrent for Expendables 3 (yes it has leaked online already)

You don't need a torrent for Expendables 3, the DVD quality leak is streamed all over the place. Personally, I think it's a step down from the first 2 movies.

They're very different from the originals, which I also liked as a kid.

Just be warned.

Looks like it will be a trilogy when all's said and done. The third film has already been greenlit:

1) Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011)--First film of the reboot. I watched it a couple of weeks ago, and couldn't believe it was actually good. Made me want to go see the 2nd one, which I did.

2) Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014)--Second film of the reboot. Just a great movie, even if you're not into action or sci-fi. People looking for a Michael Bay visual and audio mess of stupidity seem to not care for it.

3) Untitled Third Film (2016)--Really looking forward to it!
I know they are different from the originals.....and I am usually against that....but Rise of the Planet of the Apes was really good I thought, and look forward to seeing the others.

The old ones got progressively worse the more they made......I did like the TV series though.

Is the Mark Wallberg movie tied in with what they have made now ? It seemed more like a rip-off of the 70`s movies.

Summer movie season started strong, died in the middle, and I think Guardians of the Galaxy and Lucy will be good, but still will not salvage what was one of the crappiest seasons in some time.

I left so many movies this summer like Godzilla and Spiderman2 feeling totally meh and bored.

I haven't seen Rise of the Planet of the Apes but I went and seen Dawn of the Planet of the Apes last weekend, excellent movie. I loved Planet of the Apes movies when I was a kid, the new ones appear to be just a wee bit better...

The Mark Wahlberg movie is a stand alone movie.

The new movie takes place 10 years after the events of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. If you liked Rise of the Planet of the Apes, chances are that you will like this one even more.

No, the Wahlberg one has nothing to do with the reboot that started with Rise. This new trilogy is a complete reboot.

If you liked Rise, you'll really like Dawn, I think.

22 Jump Street. They did a surprisingly good job with the first one, so that would be the only one I would consider paying money to go see in the theater.

The new Sin City looks like it will be good. I haven't noticed anything else that has piqued my interest in months.

I really liked the first one as well. It has been a bit frustrating to be wanting to see the sequel for so long when IMDB has had the dates pushed back annually for the past 6 years or so. I'm sure that had a lot to do with getting the core cast back together for production.
