From Rotoworld w/ Rotoworld comments:

Bengals exercised the fifth-year option of TE Tyler Eifert.

Eifert, the 21st pick in the 2013 draft, is now under contract through 2017. Coming off a 13-touchdown breakout season, Eifert is locked in as one of the premier tight ends in the league. As long as he can stay healthy, which has proved to be a challenge, Eifert should score double-digit touchdowns in 2016, especially with Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu out of the picture.

Seems like the obvious move..... I think Eifert has to prove he can stay healthy over the next 2 years. If so, he'll get paid as a top-3 tight end for his next deal. If he doesn't, I'm not sure what you offer him.

Nice problem to have. It wasn't that long ago when we had an OC who didn't know that TE's were allowed to go on pass routes, while Gresham was only allowed to take two steps and turn around his last two years here. Eifert is not coverable by any Defender. He either has a size advantage, speed advantage or route-running advantage. He can catch anything if it's near him. The 20-yd seam pass is a quick strike and accurate play. He's always going to be in single coverage because of Green. If Dalton sees the Safety cheating, he needs to hit Green and let Green try to win the battle.

One thing we'll miss from Marvin Jones is the 5 PI calls he achieved against Defenses last season, easily tops on the team. He was often matched up against #2 CB's and they usually didn't have the height to compete with him. Laquan Treadwell's strength is that he consistently wins the catch. If he's there in the 1st, the Bengals would be tickled to put him in the Starting lineup in Game 1. The top-4 WR's are all over the board, but none are top-ten, so other needs come into play for teams when picks 11-23 come up.

The two most likely teams to take a WR before the Bengals are the Vikings and the Texans. Coleman is talked about often with the Texans. Zimmer is always more familiar with Texas, so he could go Coleman (Baylor) or Doctson (TCU). ND's Will Fuller is the #1 WR on nfl.com's board.

I think the thing about Eifert is we try not to over use him because of his injuries.

I'm setting the Over/Under of games Eifert starts AND finishes at 10.

And I will take the under.
