I just posted this on the main football forum, but think about this, if we lose Hue to a HC job we may lose another great coach as well:

I would say Jacksonville would be an ideal landing spot for him as he will have to rebuild a bit, but he has his young offensive core in place for an offensive minded coach:

QB Bortles
RB Yeldon
TE Thomas
WR Hurns
WR Robinson
WR Blackmon (if he can keep from getting suspended)

Plus on defense, he still has Fowler and Posluszny on the defensive side to help lead.

Plus, if Hue gets a HC job, he is probably going to take a great coach, teacher of the game and next in line DC talent in Vance Joseph with him to be the defensive coordinator.

Jacksonville would be stupid not to make this hire as they get a HC who will help them become an offensive force with a bunch of young talent already there, and they may be getting one of the best new candidates for a DC position in football in Joseph.

I'll worry about this after the season ends.

I don't think Hue is here after this season with the way the offense has been so creative, and productive. He was searching for a HC job last year when he interviewed with Buffalo to only have them decide on Rex. I think a lot of HC's get fired this year, and Hue will be one of t he top candidates for the openings. Wouldn't even surprise me to see Vance Joseph go straight from our DB coach to HC somewhere.

we're still walking on thin ice as far as potential injuries go, so lets not count our chickens before they hatch.

The next OC for the Bengals will be James Urban NOT Ken Zampese...Zampese has had his time to get the job. Urban has come from the Eagles and has the WRs playing well.... I believe Urban gets the promotion.... See me in Feb/Mar

Yep lets promote the guy who works with WR, not the guy who works with Dalton every day. Makes sense.

You have to wonder about Zampese..... The guy has developed two rookie quarterbacks (Palmer and Dalton), and both guys have had a lot of success in the league. Dalton has started every game since he has been a rookie and even discounting his horrible primetime and postseason appearances, he still stands out as pretty darn good compared to other guys drafted over the last 5 years.

He also comes from NFL royalty (and you know how much the NFL is interested in guys that have the family connections) - Ernie Zampese was known as an offensive guru in the 70s and 80s. And his coaching pedigree is interesting given that he was the passing game coordinator for the Greatest Show on Turf when he worked with Mike Martz and the Rams.

With that type of resume, how has the guy never become an offensive coordinator.

I think he was considered for the job here in the past but it just doesn't work. Marv would rather ground and pound and play good D then try to recreate the greatest show on turf.
