Brandon Lafell looked good to me. I would expect him to get more involved each week.
Agreed. This was one of the biggest questions heading into the game. His hand injury and lack of playing time played a huge factor in fans not knowing what to expect. If he can continue to improve, Boyd continues to improve, and you get Eifert back, this offense won't be far off from last years'.

surely.

boyd is a good athlete, and possibly with more upside than Sanu.
Lafell seems to be a more complete receiver than Jones.

when they finally feel comfortable with the offense and their roll in it, it should be very good.

Alex Erikson could even get a few plays in.

The one thing Jones offered was a legit deep threat down field opposite of Green. Sure, you can do it with Eifert, but using him in the middle is where he's best suited. LaFell and Boyd are quick, but they are not true speed threats down-field. That's the only thing that will be truly missing from the offense, but at this point Boyd = Sanu and LaFell is a better all-around WR than Jones.

Erickson will see some plays in the slot at times. He's a shifty WR in true New England Patriots form. If they can get him the ball in space, he'll make plays with his ability to move around more than his speed.

The offense has real potential as the year goes along. Let's hope that it comes to fruition.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think Boyd can offer a deep threat from time to time, when he's ready.
It may take him a year or two. he played rb some in college so his roll is changing here a bit.

Agreed. I think anyone can be a threat from time to time, but you always had to respect Jone's speed, every play. That is what I'm talking about, and what is missing (currently) from this offense.

I'm not ready to say that Lafell is a better all around receiver than Jones..... Marvin made some tough catches in the redzone in his time here. My biggest complaint about the guy was that he seemed fragile. LaFell is an interesting guy - First round talent, but he is now on his third team. And his struggles last year (though probably due to injury) really dropped his value. His first game gave us a lot of hope, but I need to see it for a few more games before I'm a believer.
