Well of course they could do other things. They have all of their draft picks. They could trade Curry or Green. They could trade Isaiah Joe or Paul Reed.

Whether they could get something that would make a difference is a different matter.
This is sort of what people were saying to you, no way to really make an impact without moving Simmons.

Except teams make trades all the time without trading big name players.

Of course there are challenges with making moves without moving Simmons. But ultimately, if they don't think they can get a deal for Simmons they are happy with, then they most certainly should make other moves.

I have no idea who is actually available for trades. That's the problem.

Seth Curry is definitely the guy to trade with Simmons in a Harden trade. I could see it. And it would let us keep Maxey and Thybulle.

Curry is a good shooter of course but small and slow, making him a pretty significant liability defensively against teams with multiple good wings.

No reason. You throw in Danny Green to match salaries.

I do think there is no reason other than what may be needed for a salary match. Brooklyn says no? OK, we'll wait until the offseason when they have even less leverage and have to basically do a sign and trade.

This is a good find. Pompey is pretty clued in to what goes on down there and because he’s a local beat writer not likely to be the source of a purposeful leak like a national guy might be.

"unlikely" is pretty vague. He has better sources than the national guys but I think this statement has a lot of wiggle in it.

Yeah, it’s a hedge in the way it’s worded. Gun to my head, I’m thinking the deadline comes and goes and Simmons is still property of the Sixers.

Maybe there’s another deal that can be done like Drazic on the buyout market or something like that.

Yeah, with all this time he has had, I am sure Ben Simmons has been working really hard on his shot and is just going to kill it right everyone? He's gotta be a 90% FT shooter now?

Getting harden for a guy who literally isn’t playing for you and green is a steal
Sounds about right if the Nets are dealing Harden before Thursday. That means their plan has fallen apart and they're concerned that Harden is gonna be the tail end of Houston Harden.

He doesn't. Adding Simmons to the Nets improves the Nets more than adding Harden improves the Sixers.

The only reason I'd wanna see a Simmons/Harden trade is the nonsense that could happen in Brooklyn with those three on the same team.

-we all know Kyrie's head is fuck up & he puts himself ahead of the team

-KD went after a kid on social media & at one time was creating fake social media accounts to defend himself

-and with Simmons you just never know, a Nets radio guy could question his on court decision making resulting in BS refusing to play because someone hurt his feelings again

Make this trade happen for entertainment purposes. Because it has comedy train wreck written all over it.

Green and Simmons doesn't get that done either
Simmons and an expiring deal? I beg to differ. They aren't getting better than that in a sign and trade for Beal.

It’s a huge shit show, Philly not really paying for Simmons this season doesn’t have them very motivated, even if they should be.

You guys literally dont want to give up anything good for an overrated ben simmons. You are silly if you think throwing green in will get you harden or beal. Better off working with the kings and getting 3 quality players for him. Not getting a top 25 player for him and crumbs aka danny green
