One day it will all make sense
Please sweet baby Jesus let the Ben Simmons trade involve Tony Snell
Can only hope (Mobley being a good one) as might be our last chance to ever be relevant again....at least anything beyond borderline playoff team.Part of my rank of him at 4 is assessing fit going both ways. Cavs don’t draft him to deal him in his rookie season for starters. And then with a Sixers group of Harris and Embiid at 4 and 5 he has to play a lot of 3 which may be a role he can handle but maybe not right away. I would be floored if Mobley would go in any deal let alone one for the Sixers. The only way I see it happening is if a third team comes in and an asset is pried away from said third team so that Mobley goes back to them plus a Thybulle or Maxey from Sixers to get a player they covet over Sexton/Okora. But that’s highly unlikely. But I figured if I’m doing a list of the assets I value on the Cavs roster, I’d be a dope for leaving Mobley off. I think Cavs have a good one there.
If you factor in Embiid missing many games during the regular season... (which he always does)... hard to see how the '6ers are gonna be up around a 3 seed without Simmons. It’s not about the regular season though. Sixers have enough with no Ben to win 50 games and be in the 3-6 seed realm...
Not necessarily in a league where guys like Kawhi and Giannis get drafted in the teens. You’re right that it’s rare and it’s not ideal like being a destination city for FAs but we should all be emboldened by a Bucks championship and a Raptors championship (but with a Lakers championship in between). Can only hope (Mobley being a good one) as might be our last chance to ever be relevant again....at least anything beyond borderline playoff team.
He will likely play 60-62. To get the 3 he would have to play closer to 70 games. Part of my assertion is who actually got better in the East? I’m not buying Chicago. I think Knicks regress. I don’t think losing Drazic and getting Lowry makes the Heat better to be honest. I think Nets and Bucks and everybody else still in the East.If you factor in Embiid missing many games during the regular season... Not buying Bulls either....I mean, they can improve but top 3? Don't see it. Agree NY regresses and maybe even Atlanta. He will likely play 60-62. I think the East is slightly better... it's more in that 7-10 playoff slot range that improvements have been made... more competitive there. He will likely play 60-62. Anywho, regarding Philly without Simmons... the margin for error is just slim without Simmons... a couple small injuries or one bigger one and Philly is closer to that 7-10 range than anything else.
I actual love Philly getting rid of Simmons long term... should open up everything and "Embiid surrounded by shooters" is a great formula...
... but in the regular season, Philly would be crazy to run Embiid into the ground just to try to get a higher notch or 2 in the playoff seeding.
Ha! I’m not taking that bet.I will bet my entire v cash Embiid doesn't play 70 games
Atlanta is a wild card. I actually think they do have the ability to get better with leaps from one or both of Hunter and Reddish. I think their roster construction is top notch and they will come in confident after their playoff success. But I could also see regression as well if the change in league rules alters the way Trae Young plays hunting fouls. Not buying Bulls either....I mean, they can improve but top 3? Don't see it. MajorEmbiid injury and no Simmons + no Simmons trade = Philly is not in the playoffs, IMO.Embiid himself getting hurt could make them the 7 seed
Agree. Maybe I’m wrong but where we differ is in my assessment of Maxey’s impact when he gets minutes. He’s going to be the best option the Sixers have had to actually play pick and roll with Joel Embiid and even Tobias Harris. They had that in Butler but Brett Brown is a dope who ran offense for JJ Redick and never did much pick and roll. I could be wrong but I think Maxey could be a revelation this year.I think the East is slightly better... it's more in that 7-10 playoff slot range that improvements have been made... more competitive there.

If they lose Embiid for a segment of 15-20 games in a row because of an injury they may not make the playoffs at all. Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey with role players is a lottery team.Embiid himself getting hurt could make them the 7 seed
Shaq was also 32 years old when they traded him and I'm pretty sure that Kobe was the one who said "It's either him or me".
I sometimes wish kevin love was hit by a bus so we don't have to talk about him
About time one of them started telling it like it is. Everyone knows anyway.Embiid is really starting to throw Simmons under the bus now, I love it.

76ers' Joel Embiid calls Ben Simmons saga 'borderline kinda disrespectful'
Embiid's comments come in response to a recent report from The Athletic stating that Simmons feels his pairing with Embiid has simply "run its course," a source said.theathletic.com
