Well he's not making his dream of leaving Philly happen any faster.

As I said, he's acting like he's James Harden and that teams will want him no matter what sort of nonsense he pulls. And he thinks that he can make the Sixers be so unhappy with him that they will just trade him for pennies on the dollar.

He's not James Harden. And the Sixers have a lot more leverage than the Rockets because he has 4 years left. If he chooses a scorched Earth approach then the Sixers will reciprocate. And they aren't likely to face a backlash from other players because Simmons is acting like such a child in public.

This isn't some trash team that was hoping to sneak into a playoff spot with Simmons like the Rockets were with Harden or the Wolves were with Butler. This is a playoff team with aspirations of winning a title. Ben Simmons actively trying to sabotage them because his fee fees were hurt is not going to gain him ANY sympathy from the league or other players or fans. In a lot of ways he is the opposite of Harden and Butler in that both of them wanted their teams to be better.

There are plenty of teams who would be happy to have him

Morey asking for more than harden went for is flat out bad faith after claiming they would try to accommodate Ben

Let him do this all season and Philly while you are the 7 seed, that will be fun

Disregard the public stories of what Morey was asking for. That was pure propaganda. Just like the Wolves saying they wouldn't give up Russell in a Simmons trade.

The reality is that Morey was trying to get more than Simmons was worth on the street and other teams were trying to get him for less than what he is worth. That's how it works.

What Morey wants is for Simmons to come back and play hard and rehabilitate his trade value. Simmons may not care about his trade value but he should because the higher his actual value the more likely he is to be traded.

If Simmons doesn’t play all year and they get nothing for him?

It’s possible.

The Sixers still have Embiid. They still have a pretty talented team.

I do think it is possible that the Sixers trade for a journeyman PG in the next month or so.

I don't think any claims by the Wolves that Russell would not be included was more about the fear that KAT would go full Simmons if they traded his best friend than his ability on the court.

They have like 60 games of embiid.

Durant missed 50% of his free throws, I expect him to pass up a dunk next game.

He should just make it official and get a vagina, then he can claim transphobic work environment

Those awful, brutal Philly fans just won't leave Ben alone and let him live his life. If he chooses not to shoot, that's his choice. If he chooses to live life as a woman, that's his choice too.

Sixers starting Maxey tonight at point. I am going to laugh if he does well and takes this job. They are asking a lot of him as a starting PG right now, but I think he has real upside as an offensive minded PG.

Point is, it isn’t in the 6ers best interest to go scorched earth.

At some point they will have no choice but to take what they can get.

They would be incredibly stupid to let this play out for a season +

If the Sixers were going to sit and wait, the way to do it would have been to let him stay away and keep getting paid. Withholding his pay brings him back into the day to day of the team.
