Hoop’s Villain, Reality’s Hero
Ben's from Australia. Kyrie's from Australia. And they both insane in the membrane. Just something to think about.
Damn kangaroos ruin everything….

Moses is the most underrated superstar. Late 70s to early 80s he was the best player in the leagueMoses was such a beast the year they won it all. Dr. J was actually a little past his prime, but it was Peak Moses.

In theory, being less dependent on running the offense through him exclusively should free him up to being more effective again at the defensive end. If the Sixers can get themselves to be an above average defensive unit this team can really make noise. Looking at their pieces, filtering everything to Embiid like Utah does with Gobert is the best way to do that.I heard today pre Harden 49% of Embid's points were assisted
Through 2 games over 80 percent are assisted.
That is huge, Embid has to work far less hard for a bucket.
Something else I was thinking about is that with all the free throws, those are effectively mini-time outs which allows for more rest.In theory, being less dependent on running the offense through him exclusively should free him up to being more effective again at the defensive end. Rebounding is a big issue for me. It sets up your transition and it keeps them from getting second chance points. When the playoffs go to more of a half court set up, rebounding is going to be even bigger. They really need to rebound better as a group. Part of that is finding Embiid a cover that doesn’t take him away from the rim. They also have to gang rebound. Harris is looking for a role now. This guy has to commit to being a ferocious rebounder. Dude has it in him. He has averaged 6.5/7 most of his career. Harden also rebounds his position pretty well.Something else I was thinking about is that with all the free throws, those are effectively mini-time outs which allows for more rest.
Also, I don't mind being out-rebounded, but didn't the Sixers have a ridiculous advantage in fast break points and points off of turnovers?
For me, the more the other team tries to crash the glass, the easier it is to get transition chances when you do grab the rebound.Rebounding is a big issue for me. Here’s another thing on foul shots (not mine; I stole it from yesterday’s telecast). When you shoot that many free throws, it allows your squad to set your defense.
Yep. TWolves, Knicks, Knicks is almost like the Harden/Embiid 2nd preseason for them to work out some kinks and get some flow. But this weekend starts an important stretch. For me, the more the other team tries to crash the glass, the easier it is to get transition chances when you do grab the rebound.
Next four games should be interesting.
Yep. 16 total games with Kyrie/Harden/KD in about 13 months and it wasn't because Harden was unavailable much.I can't blame Harden wanting out of Brooklyn imagine if your coworker got paid to stay home to shitpost about covid and you had to pull extra hours at work half the time.
I don't blame him for wanting out but he also just gave up. In the grand scheme of things it's doesn't matter but still looks bad. When things get tough, he gives up. If you are down 3-1 or 3-2 in a series is the mindset you want from one of your stars...nope. Not saying it will happen but I feel like this is Harden in a nutshell up to this point. He has all the opportunity in Philly to change it though.I can't blame Harden wanting out of Brooklyn imagine if your coworker got paid to stay home to shitpost about covid and you had to pull extra hours at work half the time.
A Harden averaging 15 a game during the playoffs is still better than a Ben Simmons averaging 8pts a game and 2/10 in the FT line. Sitting on the bench the last 4 minutes of the game.I don't blame him for wanting out but he also just gave up. In the grand scheme of things it's doesn't matter but still looks bad.
